MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 3

Umm, I think this new show IS the Agents of SHIELD spin-off

Possibly. No word yet to confirm one way or the other. Forbes mentioned that Ridley was currently doing another project, which would make him signing on for a full season show unlikely and Deadline reported that it was likely the show would be airing concurrently with Agents of SHIELD. http://www.forbes.com/sites/merrillbarr/2015/04/17/agent-carter-season-2/
http://deadline.com/2015/04/agents-of-shield-spinoff-abc-1201407425/

Taken together, those facts would lead me to believe they might be two different series, with this one being a mini-series airing next to Carter.

CBM suggests it isn't the spinoff (which would mean eight total Marvel TV shows). But I can't possibly imagine what it would be if it isn't.

Had they not gotten Cheo Coker, I would have suggested he would be an ideal choice for Luke Cage based on his involvement with American Crime. As it is, I have no idea.

Blade, Moon Knight or Cloak and Dagger are my guesses.

how would the last two heroes fit into the long running MCU narrative of "they all battle Thanos at the end of Avengers 4?"

Easy. Cloak helps 'port everyone. They fit as well as Daredevil, in any case.

I don't know if that is in anyway a question they ask themselves when picking new properties. If it is I suspect it applies far more to the films than their shows. After all, yeah, would you really want to stick Daredevil in the ring with Thanos? I mean maybe if you were Kingpin and absolutely hated Daredevil.

ANOTHER Marvel show? Wow! And if they already have a name attached, it must be a pretty sure thing. Nice.

I've finally got and read this book 😆😆 so excited to know the story between CA: WS and A: AoU. Also, given I'm not grew up reading Marvel Comics like most of post-ers here...I'm surprised to read the classic Ultron story added in this book......😄

I'd love if it was Moon Knight, but at the same time don't want it to be. I need Marvel to give me time to get my career off the ground so I can make Moon Knight for them. :woot:

Hey Everyone!

If you're planning on Marathoning the Marvel movies, I've created a really cool way to watch them the way they were meant to be watched!

I made two 8 hour movies that include all Films from the MCU and they are in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER!

Meaning: All the movies have been woven together to match the MCU Timeline!

The first video is of Fury’s Big week, which doesn’t include Iron Man (2008) but there is a link to download it in the Read Me :P There are also a couple of Marvel One Shots Included!

The second video is basically, Iron Man 3 meshed with Thor 2 and Cap 2 Meshed with Guardians, but watching it is UNREAL!

Here are the links:

Phase 1:

Phase 2:

https://kickass.to/marvel-mega-cut-phase-2-intro-to-infinity-t10526223.html

It's a really cool view and although they're each 10GB, it's a very different opportunity to watch the MCU films the way they were supposed to be watched!

Trust me, IT’S AWESOME!!!

Cheers!

I've updated my personal MCU chronology. Please feel free to review and comment. This is a constantly changing document, and an extra set of eyes can help a lot.

I think that DD and the first half of Season 2 of AoS are interwoven. Therefore, I clumped together story arcs together, which means that if an episode ends on a cliffhanger the next episode immediately follows it, then those two are together. I based it upon observable items, such as conversations (Karen Page mentioned in the first DD ep. that things have changed in the last two years since The Event. This means it probably occurs in the summer of 2014. However, by episode 13 the characters are wearing warm clothes and you can see their breath. That means it is cold (It was filmed in December of 2014, after all). AoS was a bit trickier. The last couple of ep's. of the first half kind of run together. So I just plugged them all together. Again, please review and comment.

Moving forward, it is next to impossible to guess at this point what the plans are for ABC next season. I read that ABC will announce everything in three weeks, so expect an update then.

Shouldn't the Consultant be before Incredible Hulk. It was where Coulson plans to send Stark to bother Gen. Ross so that he doesn't hand over Abomination

No, it takes place after TIH. Gen. Ross is in charge of Abomination's imprisonment (which happens after Hulk chokes him out during the Harlem fight and then spares him at Betty's pleading). The WSC wants Abomination released to join the Avengers Initiative and both Fury and Coulson realize how stupid that idea is.

I think that technically, The Consultant would take place DURING The Incredible Hulk, but good eyes.

Shouldn't the Consultant be before Incredible Hulk. It was where Coulson plans to send Stark to bother Gen. Ross so that he doesn't hand over Abomination
No - because the bulk of The Incredible Hulk happens before the events of The Consultant do.

This is why the overlap between The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor (with them all taking place pretty much during the same time frame/the same week at least) and likewise that also includes the respective one-shots that associate with them ("A Funny Thing Happened" and "The Consultant") can kind of make things tricky 'ordering' wise. I mean, in The Consultant the diner that Coulson and Sitwell are meeting in looks to be in a desert location, so it's likely in New Mexico while they're dealing with the mysterious hammer situation (but probably before the culmination of events with the Destroyer arriving and laying waste). They obviously have that conversation after the bulk of events of TIH (because Ross has Abomination and the destruction of Harlem happened) but before the scene with Stark at the bar at the end. Those three films are just kind of an overlapping mess :funny:

The new marvel show called powers is hardcore RATED R BY THE WAY.It's from marvel but not a mcu tv show.

TV VS MOVIES
The marvel and dc tv shows tend to have stronger stories and stronger character
development then dc and marvel movies.
If you look at the critics and audience ratings for the tv shows and
movies, tv is better rated.
So anyone says that movies are better then tv are just really
committed mostly or only to movies and they have brainwashed
themselves to believing that movies are better so they don't have to
watch the tv shows.
If movies are your thing first, fine, but don't be delusional people.
Tv on average is doing a better job.

Agents of shield had a great first season and anyone that says no,do not know what they are talking about because i seen the FIRST season recently.

Now compare the movie and tv ratings.

I wouldnt really count that as a marvel show.

It's marvel show like izombie is a dc show but it's not a mcu tv show, but it's on the marvel list for tv shows like men in black is on the marvel list for movies or a history of violence is on the dc list for movies.

Powers (PlayStation Network TV series), a PlayStation Network series, based on the comics, originally for FX Network.

You know who I'd like to see somewhere in the MCU? The High Evolutionary.

High_evolutionary.jpg

He has ties to lots of characters (first appeared in a Thor comic!) and is a sort of all around "villain" (although he is more of a morally ambiguous antagonist who could go either way...) who could appear in almost anyone's film. I guess of the current MCU characters, he fits best with Wanda, and if her backstory is ever explored he could be part of that.

I wonder if there is a Mount Wundagore in Sokovia?
