To watch it? Hell yes. But I've put together a timeline. I'd hate to try watcing it all lol

Iron Man's Christine Everhart reporting on the fallout from Age Of Ultron and Scott Lang's prison release.

I've been thinking that from here on out, the MCU is now taking place in the "Age of Ultron", the events from that movie will theoretically shape the conflicts we find the heroes in throughout, Civil War obviously, Ant-Man maybe, but there's a lot of things to branch off of after AoU that will affect the world these movies take place in, to the point that I think Age of Ultron might not just be the title of said movie, but could be label for Phase 3.

Bob Iger when asked about growing competition with DC and other studios:

We’re Marvel. We’ve done a great job of building the Marvel brand, which we think when it’s on a movie really makes a difference. We’re seeing signs of that.

God I hope this is a rumor:

She's very hot and Jay Z is a very lucky man, but as a hero? As Monica Rambeau or Misty Knight? No when there are better actresses out there to play both. Now possibly as singer Monica Lynne in Black Panther? That may not be out of the question if it becomes true.

She was good in Dreamgirls and in Cadillac Records but I cannot picture her as a Marvel Superhero.

Consider the source: Daily Star.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

Speaking of Monica Rambeau, it will be curious to see how old she will be. Will she be closer in age to Paul Rudd or RDJ or Renner or Ruffalo? If so, names like Taraji P. Henson (44), Sanaa Lathan (42) and Gabrielle Union (42) could be options. Rudd is 46, RDJ is 50, Ruffalo is 47 and Renner is 44.

Or will she be closer in age to Chris Evans (34), Chris Hemsworth (32) or Scar Jo (30). In that case, then I can see Yaya DeCosta (33), Meagan Good (33) or Tika Sumpter (35). Slightly younger they can go with Sleepy Hollow's Nicole Beharie (30).

Or will they go somewhere in the middle like Benedict Cumberbatch (38), Chadwick Boseman (38), Chris Pratt (36) or Anthony Mackie (36). This is where they can cast Paula Patton (39), Naomie Harris (38) or Kerry Washington (38).

They won't go younger than 25 for Monica, so no names like Keke Palmer (21). I think the actress they hire for Monica will be somewhere in the middle.

You know people crap on the MCU for how the lack of great villains besides Loki, but whether or not you have a problem with the villains can't everyone agree that they managed to make the heroes look great?

I mean there have been comic book movies where people have praised and paid more attention to the villains more than the heroes themselves, this may be the one instance were all the heroes have been portrayed damn near perfectly, here people actually care about the heroes.

Yeah, I think that's absolutely true. I would argue that most superhero movies before Marvel were about the villain. In fact, the whole reason for a sequel was to have someone new for the superhero to punch (and that new person would be the whole selling point). Marvel movies, on the other hand, are about the characters and their story arc (with a possible exception of Thor, where the sequel seemed to be about Loki's character arc).

Granted, I also think The Dark Knight trilogy was the same way and they still managed to have an extremely compelling villain that fit the theme of the movie in The Dark Knight.

I completely agree, I've never read comics but I am now a fan of Iron Man, Thor, Cap(especially Cap), Black Widow, etc. because of how well they've been portrayed in the movies.

Exactly. I always say that their movies are very hero-focused and they nail the characterizations to a tee. At least the villains are decent to good and not mediocre (TASM2:sly:). And of course we've had some stand out ones as well. But I guess the thing to keep in mind is that for the most part what we get from Marvel is the Hero's journey.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think if Marvel is aiming for a black actress in a major role in the MCU, I think the top two names on their list are Gugu M'Batha Raw and Taraji P. Henson with Lupita Nyong'o and Kerry Washington not that far behind. Lupita is easier to fancast in the MCU than Taraji though. Gugu has emerged as my top choice for Monica Rambeau (a role in which she would be perfect for if she can perfect the Louisiana accent), but would also make a good Misty Knight or even a decent Shuri. Her star is on the rise.

For Taraji it's harder because of her age (45). We can easily put actresses like Kerry Washington (38), Meagan Good (34), Naomie Harris (39), Nicole Beharie (30), Tessa Thompson (32) or Gugu Mbatha Raw (32) for Monica Rambeau, unless they want the actress to play Monica to be closer in age to RDJ, Rudd, Banner and Renner. She was my third choice (behind Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer) to be Amanda Waller.

I could see those two being on Marvel's radar if they want to cast another Black actress. They did pursue Rosario Dawson for a long time and finally snagged her as Claire Temple in Daredevil and although it may not be Misty Knight or Elektra or Echo, I am now okay with her in that role since they confirmed she will appear in all of the Netflix Marvel shows, essentially making her the Nick Fury of the Defenders.

No - because the bulk of The Incredible Hulk happens before the events of The Consultant do.

This is why the overlap between The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor (with them all taking place pretty much during the same time frame/the same week at least) and likewise that also includes the respective one-shots that associate with them ("A Funny Thing Happened" and "The Consultant") can kind of make things tricky 'ordering' wise. I mean, in The Consultant the diner that Coulson and Sitwell are meeting in looks to be in a desert location, so it's likely in New Mexico while they're dealing with the mysterious hammer situation (but probably before the culmination of events with the Destroyer arriving and laying waste). They obviously have that conversation after the bulk of events of TIH (because Ross has Abomination and the destruction of Harlem happened) but before the scene with Stark at the bar at the end. Those three films are just kind of an overlapping mess :funny:

I've actually put together my own timeline for that situation. Just don't watch the The Incredible Hulk end scene with Tony and Gen. Ross since it's already in the Consultant. Also don't watch the end credits scene in Iron Man 2. The scene is already in the Thor movie.

Iron Man
Iron Man: Post Credits Scene
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Marvel One Shot: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer
Thor
Thor: Post Credits Scene
Marvel One Shot: The Consultant

The only thing about this that might seem weird is when Coulson tells Tony that he's been reassigned to New Mexico. Which would give the impression that the events of Thor have already happened. Unless you just think that he went there because of the strange anomalies that Jane Foster was experiencing before Thor arrived.

Film rankings;

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Iron Man
Captain America
The Avengers
Ant-Man
Guardians Of The Galaxy
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Iron Man 3
Iron Man 2
Thor: The Dark World
Thor

TV rankings;

Daredevil S1
Agent Carter S1
Agents Of SHIELD S1
Agents Of SHIELD S2

The official Avengers prequel comic tie-in "Fury's Big Week" actually addresses this point and it's pretty much your note that I've bolded. While Tony is busy working on his arc reactor problem, Coulson is upstairs with SHIELD monitoring equipment that's been brought in as they track odd flares happening within earth's atmosphere. He then convinces Fury to let him go to New Mexico to see if they can get more conclusive readings as to what's going on

Agreed. It's a different sort of approach but one that has worked beautifully for them.
For what it's worth, I don't think any studio's handling of villains is head and shoulders above Marvel. Everyone has their successes and their failures.

Hmmm... is the fact that they have an image of the orb from GOTG an indication of what the packaging will be (ala the briefcase for Phase 1), or will they go for something else. Wonder what the "and more" is going to consist of (because whatever that "and more" is will probably determine whether I opt to shell out and get it or not...)

So I got bored and tallied up the running time of every MCU film and TV episode to date (this does not include one-shots) and it tops at around 75.2 hours. That's over three days of Marvel content.
