MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 5

Yeah I don't see Ds2 being released next year. Wow more than 4 years since the 1st film!

Similar to Dark World > Ragnarok. It seems when a solo film that doesnt do as well marvel unfortunately likes to wait a bit longer.

The gap between Thor and Thor 2 was under 5 years, Dr. Strange will feel longer.

Seems Derrickson and the writing team is near completion on the script if that is the case. I'm more than OK with this news cuz it's bout damn time for Doctor Strange to get his shine again!
Looking forward to Eternals too BTW.
Me too. After infinity war, I can't wait for Dr Strange 2.

I really hope they can get 3 films ready for 2020. My schedule would be.

Black Widow - May

Eternals - August

Doctor Strange 2 - November

Derrickson is still filming Locke & Key which ends production in June. They could start production in November and go for a November 2020 release. Ideally Id want Strange 2 in the big May 2020 slot but if thats not doable then Id settle for November.
For all we know, they could be ready to start production, but kept it on the down low to avoid spoilers for Endgame. Announcing Eternals would not affect Endgame in any way.

I wonder how things will pan out in regards to the Eye? Classically in the comics its a HUGE part of Strange's arsenal. I'd be disappointed if it's totally gone going forward.

Looks like the original Cyclops wants to join the MCU..

Would you be fine if James Marsden who got killed off in the first part of Last Stand and got brought back in the last part of Days Of Future Past reprise his most famous role (second only to him briefly crossing over from Marvel to DC in order to play the super-memorable role of Lois Lane's thankless boyfriend in a generic love triangle) for the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Even if he's doesn't play Scott again, who else can Mr. Marsden play in the MCU? I dunno.. Mr. Fantastic?
I jokingly suggested Uncle Ben in the X-Men thread. But now that I think about it, I guess it wouldn't be a bad fit. Probably not the kind of meaty role he'd prefer, but I could see him as the MCU version of Ben Parker.

Do we know if Black Widow is an origins/early career film (pre-Iron Man 2) or a post-Endgame film with flashbacks?

Not old enough

I believe that the summary included with the latest casting news confirmed that.

He'd make a decent Wonder Man maybe. Hell, he'd be a decent Adam Warlock too.

I wonder if this applies to the F4 as well. This kinda sucks if what Feige is implying here ends up being the case.

What did feige say?
He essentially killed the hopes of all those fanboys who are expecting Marvel to jump on the X-Men train immediately as soon as the rights were back home.

X-Men(and likely FF)isn’t in the Phase Four plans for now and Feige said it will take “a very long time” before Marvel does a X-film.

How can we get Feige to change his mind then? the FF do deserve a good film more than the X-Men do right now and would be a great way to expand on the cosmic side of things!

Phase V, y'all. It's not as far away as it seems.

They keep telling us that we should move on. Some do, but not us.

The Fox properties can't be shelved... Whatever it takes

Realistically? You probably can't. If he doesn't want to jeopardize what they were already doing and is content to wait a few years before getting to the Fox characters, I really don't think internet chatter is gonna convince him otherwise.

I dont want Feige to rush it. I'm still convinced FF will come by the end of Phase 4.I also think some x-men will pop up before the main x-men movie storm in Black Panther 2, Johnny in Spider-Man etc. Those sort of things can happen. But for the proper X-Men and FF movies yea I can see those being further out.

I could see them giving us a peek at the Surfer or Galactus in Guardians 3.

Argh, I just realized that Spidey may possibly exit the MCU after FFH this year.. That means all the new franchises will be Z-list characters...

So basically, we have sequels to Black Panther, Guardians, Strange and CM coming up. That's awesome. But the appetizers/new IPS are Z-list characters instead of the characters everybody is hyped to see....
