Why does her suit look so much better then everyone else's?

The material is what makes it, imo, and it's hard to tell based on set pics, but I think the new suit might actually be a step down in that department. It looks cheaper to me. But I'll wait to see how it looks on camera before I judge.

But there's a reason she kept her suit for 4 straight seasons while everyone else's seemed to change with each season: they got it right with SG the first time.

I think it’s safe to assume that her costume designer had access to more money. I don’t know that for a fact, but I’m assuming CBS gave SG a higher budget than the CW does.

Beyond the design and prototype stage, I assume these costumes are relatively inexpensive to produce. (Benoist and her stunt team must go through a few every season.) Moreover, once a costume is “on file” (as it were - e.g., Hoechlin’s Superman suit), it's probably fairly easy to make similar knockoffs (the Mon-El suit, the Dark Superman suit). And along those lines, this new Supergirl costume looks like an amalgam of preexisting stuff (part OG Supergirl, part Superman, maybe part Dreamer). So, again, maybe not too pricey.
