Bay's Ironhide alt mode is kooler than the minivan and actually fits the character better.
Ratchet's Bay form is better than the minivan
I'll give Jazz to the G1 only because I like the Porsche

Megatron seems kooler as an alien jet than a handgun
Starscream has and updated and kooler jet form
I dont remember Barricades G1 alt but i love mustangs so I'll give it to Bay
Frenzy is better as a cd player than a cassette
Bonecrusher's G1 form is better than his Bay form

Bumblebee's alt mode doesn't suit his personality or namesake. His alt mode was a bug for crying out loud. It was perfect.

Ratchet is the ugliest ambulance I've ever seen. Not to mention his annoying british accent.

thats because the IM fanatics are flexible when it comes to IM. The armor in the movie was inspired by the comics but never appeared in the comics. Same for Iron Monger and Whiplash.No one flipped out about a AI House Jarvis. Iron Man fans rolled with the changes and accepted them.
G1 purest have fought these movies tooth and nail over every little thing.

Our inability to understand each other starts from within.

There is a way to please most of the hardcore fans without revamping the ideas from the source. Look at the first Iron Man. Only minor changes to update the timing of Stark's imprisonment. But most Iron Man fanatics were greatly satisfied. I believe there's G1 movie waiting to be made that could have similar acceptance.

Iron Man is alot more simple a concept to adapt smoothly than Tranformers.
Starting with functionality and tumbling right into every live action "holywood" film ever made stars humans and has a love story...

But not in the opinion of the film makers.And considering that the ga had little complaints about the designs of the characters, I would have to say they werent off point with thr desisions they made.

and I also point out that the Bay films outright state that the Transformers are aliens during the opening narrative. You don't need anatomy clues for the alien origin.

Favreau was going to do Mandarin for the third movie.

-I will say, that even though the Camaro is cool, I imagined Bumblebee would have been a yellow tuner car. Either way, still way cooler that the chick-car Beetle.
-That truck for Ironhide, definitely cooler than ANY minivan, I don't care what color it was!
-With Ratchet, still anything is cooler than a minivan. They could have made him a 10-speed, still an improvement.
-I still think they could have done better with Jazz, but I understand the whole thing the studio had with VW/Porsche.
