Modern Warfare 3 reveal in 5 days - Part 1

I love the fact I can still own with the UMP. Also, assassin makes the game SO much better

I'm bummed that Scavenger and Blind Eye are in the same perk category. My go-to build in MW2 was Scavenger - Cold Blooded - Ninja, I will miss it.

Also, it's crazy how broken Elite is.

I've seen several people here complain about the shotguns being "useless". I've assumed they mean that the shotguns lack fire power, but I finally played online today and got my butt handed to me several times with shotguns (one hit kills).

It isn't consistent though they're exactly how the shotguns where in BlackOps at launch. There's a problem if you can kill me with a AR in close range hip fire yet not with a shotgun.

Shotguns in real life actually have pretty damn good range and it shouldn't take 2 to 4 shots to kill a person from close to mid range. That's ridiculous.

IW did get shotguns right in MW2. The only problem there was that they were being used as secondaries which therein made them OP.

If you kept getting killed by the shotgun (probably the Striker) then that person must have been doing the "pop in and pop out" tech within gaps that allow good close/med range shots to go through.

With that said only the Striker and Models are worth using in this game while all the other ones are pretty much useless. There's a ton of videos online of damn good players experiencing this so it isn't some imaginary concern. They're **** for the most part.

In their defense someone is defintely spamming that user rating option over at Metacritic.

When looking at the challenges for each individual weapon, what is the 'Progress #/15' for? For instance I have 12/15 on my M4 but I don't know what it means. I first I thought it was unlocked attachments but that doesn't add up.

I think thats for upgrading weapon proficiency if I'm not mistaken.

so how does this prestige shop work?

If you have prestiged in any of the previous games, you get 1 token per and can use it on the items in the shop. I had 2 from prestiging in MW and MW2, so I bought the emblem/title and an extra custom slot.

I've been having a lot of fun with BF3 multiplayer. But I do miss the more twitchy, fast paced MW multiplayer. Might have to pick this up at the weekend.

That definitely describes the MP this time around. The maps I've played on have all been really really small. Makes it frantic at times

I finished the Campaign in about 6 hours...thought it was absolutely fantastic. A lot of jaw dropping, epic moments.

Oh and for the record...Bruce Greenwood has one of the coolest voices on the planet.

I played a match at a friends house Tuesday night and had fun, I hadn't played any COD regularly in about a year and used to love playing COD but I feel I got burned out after MW2. While playing a couple nights ago was fun I don't feel the same urge I had back in 2009 when MW2 came out.

Maybe it's cuz you're getting older?

I mean I thought that MW3 was awesome...but if it wearnt for the media, I wouldn't have even
known it was coming out this week.

And it's not so much about losing the urge more than it is that now that I'm getting older, (26) I've got other priorities.

Hell, Batman: Arkham City been sitting on my shelf for two weeks now...I haven't even started it yet.

Let's just say i'm past the whole 'midnight release' phase of my life, lol.

I'm having the same sad revelation right now. :o I'm double checking a term paper rather then playing COD!

I feel like an *******, but didn't anyone laugh when....
the little girl was blown up by the terrorist delivery truck? It was just so bad. The way they set it up just made it seem so obvious too. "Look at me Daddy! LOOK AT ME!" BOOOOM.

Just beat the campaign. Fantastic. This isn't supposed to be the last game of the franchise is it?

I think it is the last for ''Modern Warfare'', or at least for these characters.

I'm sure of that. It was a great ending. But I wonder if there will still be games under the "CoD" brand.

That would depend on who wins the court case I would think

I'm 35 years old and I still go to midnight releases. I work 10 - 6:30 PM M-F. I have a 6 year old daughter that I hang out with/take care of until she goes to bed, but then when she's in bed, I am usually up until 1:30 ish every night. I get up at 6:45 AM, get my daughter ready for school, then come home for about an hour, eat some breakfast and play a couple of MP matches before it's time to go to work. I live, breathe, eat (not literally) gaming technology. Well technology in general.

This will tell you how anxious I was to get MW3. I have 3 herniated disks, along with my sciatic nerve being pinched in my lower back. Plus I have tremendous pain from my back, all the way down to my toes in my left leg. Hell I even have a tens unit connected to my back, but I still wanted to go and get my game. Luckily I was able to sit down on a bench for the wait, but once the line started moving, I had to get up and wait in line. But oh man, it was definitely worth it to me. I'm sure that most of you will think "that's crazy", but I just can't help it. I love gaming. I'm sure I'm not the only person in his/her 30's that feels the same way. Just because you get older doesn't mean you have to do away with the things you enjoy doing. It just means that you have to shift priorities and if you love it that much, you will find time to play. :woot:

So I finally got into Elite, but now it doesn't want to recognize that I've played MW3 matches.

I think it is the last for ''Modern Warfare'', or at least for these characters.

"Call of Duty: Future Warfare"

Is the most logical way to go if they want to change things up...

And if not talking about getting all sci-fi with the series but maybe jump forward 10-20 years using weapons based on actual weapon technology in development ala that Tom Clancy game.
