Modern Warfare 3 reveal in 5 days - Part 1

Sounds good Kryptonian.

Yay, finally got into COD: Elite and it's...okay. It's fun to tool around with, but I don't know why I was so excited to dive in. :o

I just finished the campaign. I loved everything about it. I had so much fun and the end is indeed satisfying..
It's my favorite of the trilogy.

Anyone catch the first episode of Friday Night Fights, Army vs Navy? Pretty fun show.

Sat down and played through all but two spec op missions on veteran today. I feel accomplished.

I finally played a match on Bakaraa, Im assuming the downed helicopter is a reference to Black Hawk Down since that is where it went down

Is Elite supposed to be working now or is it still down? On the website it tells me I need to play some multiplayer even though I'm 5th prestige and on XBL it just tells me there's too many people using it at the moment.

As Bro is bored of me using his copy of the game, i know i have my own coming tomorrow... LOL

But i've just tried getting online today and i'm finding i'm having a **** load of trouble playing any game.

I get to the point where i choose my weapons class for the game and the i'm either completely ****ed with Lag or i'm stuck being a spectator with the only option available of quitting the game.

I've both restarted the Xbox and the internet hub here, but neither has let me play a game. I've also gone online in other games and had no trouble

anyone else not getting games today?

umm...no. But I did get an extra 2 hrs of double xp. I suspect it's to make up for Elite still being s***.

XBL crashed soon after, so i think that the problems i was having were related to that

OK, so I have a question. I was at my friends house and the two of us were playing the campaign. We got to the part where...

Makarov attacks Europe and makes it look like a terrorist attack. Now, that's fine...but why the **** did Russia invade those countries right after? The President (of Russia) was going to sign a peace treaty which means his army had no reason to attack because they figured the peace treaty would be signed and Makarov doesn't have an army of that caliber. So...WHY DID THEY ATTACK?! Maybe I missed it.

I'm pretty sure Makarov made the President continue the attacks, since Makarov had the president's daughter & whatnot.

He didn't have her daughter until the very end of the game. Third to last mission I think. The Russian army invades Hamburg, Paris, Spain, etc on October 6th. Vorshevsky's daughter isn't taken until the 13th. So...yeah, kinda stupid. Maybe the president was under a lot of pressure from the people?

Picked this up yesterday for 40 bucks as it was on sale for 50 and I had a 10 off GameStop coupon. Anyway... The campaign so far is great, I really, really enjoy it. I feel as if I'm in a better written/acted Michael Bay movie, lol.

Also, MP is good fun... much improved over what Blops was and it just feels to me as if it's a crisper MW2.

Have you seen "The Rock"? While Tranformers might have horrendous acting, "The Rock" has some pretty dam good acting. I doubt anything in Call Of Duty is as good as Ed Harris
(and yes, I am aware he is in Black OP's).

I finished the campaign last night and there was a lot I didn't like about it. The fact that they reused a lot of set pieces from previous games, Call of Duty 4 in particular, the fact that it largely felt like an extended epilogue to MW2 rather than an entirely new thing, the weird logical inconsistencies (such as the Russian president launching an all out invasion against the US, and then literally like a day or two later wants to be friends with them), and there are others as well, but... nevertheless... I really enjoyed it.

Despite borrowing a lot from the last two MW games there were still many cool, original moments in there as well. The sandstorm mission I thought was especially great. And as basic and one-dimensional as he is, for reasons that elude me I really like Captain Price as a character, and it was great to see him get some closure on everything that had happened across those three games.

There's something else I want to point out that I thought was great, and something I haven't seen anyone praise about the game, is that despite how crazy and over the top and bombastic these games have become, the developers showed a surprising amount of restraint in terms of level design. For example, I think it was in the Paris mission you go underground and move through the sewer system, and you take a shortcut through some kind of crypt. There are like skulls and bones on the walls and ****. It was a pretty cool place. What I'm getting at is that many other developers might have felt like turning that into an entire level, or at least some kind of extended sequence, but no, in this game it's just a neat room you pass through real quick. Similarly, in the New York mission, there's a part where you go through the New York Stock Exchange and it's got totally unique assets that you never see anywhere else in the game, and it's kind of a really cool area, but where they could have made an entire mission out of that, instead you're in and out in thirty seconds. There are several other examples of that as well. I know it's a weird thing to latch onto, but it was just something that stood out to me and I appreciated it.

I've only put a few hours into the multiplayer, but so far, thankfully, it seems to be leagues better than MW2.

The Rock is so awesome.

"Your best? Losers always whine about 'their best.' Winners go home and **** the prom queen."

And the whole end sequence with the green flares still gives me chills.

Bay needs to step away from Transformers and start making bad ass R rated films again.

The menu lag is starting to get on my nerves. How can this not be fixed yet ?

Maybe there's a tiny nick on the disc? That doesn't happen to me.

And good lord, the spawn system in the this game is hellish. It's like IW and 3arc are trying to outdo each other. There's two spots I know of right now where you can literally just stand and watch enemies spawn in front of you.
Some diagrams so you too can exploit the s*** spawn system. I also have a video of it in my vault for those of you on my friends list.

Other people here on the Hype alone has said it happens to them as well & I know other people that says it happens to them & there are even various topics if you search Google about it. So it is not just me

Yeah, it happens to me too. It's only on the first menu of the Multiplayer section.
