Transformers Negatron: Discussion Thread for those that hate the way this movie is heading

How does Bumblebee talk in the movie with his vocal circuits ripped out?

BB communicates like a sports car version of Herbie.

I am so excited for this movie

I will be wearing all my gobots on a string around my neck!

YAY GO-BOTS the MOVIE!!!!

Can I marry you?

Im not sure what my wife would have to say about that hahahah!

I'm not that "torn" like you in what to expect tho.... because, frankly, I've thought Michael Bay is the worst Hollywood has to offer for a long long time even before I heard they were making a Transformers movie. I know exactly what to expect in this movie..... (although I'm hoping to be surprised).

Well for all "the bay" has directed some great "action" movies.... The Rock, Bad boys, Bad boys II...
He's also created some STUNNING imagery in a lot of his movies, The Rock and The Island....

And Lets be honest.. weve waited So long for a live action TF movie that the action has to be second to non, and it HAS to look GOOD. Both of these things "the Bay-ster" will do very well....

Unfortunatly... Amazing action and stunning camera work does NOT a great TF movie make... without the characterisation, Dialogue and Story line to back it up!... I just think he seems to have made a fair few BAD decisions already..

Plus he reminds me of Micheal Bolton... and i wouldnt trust michael Bolton to make a GOOD transformers movie....

No but seriously, I will Wait to pass judgement until i see the movie.. and just hope that he hasnt manage to ***** it up TOO much!

Optimus uses the expression "my bad" in the movie, everyone.

MOTHER ****ING OPTIMUS SAYS MY BAD. tHIS IS INEXCUSABLE. don't defend it.

Bay, WTF!!!! Id rather he say 'do a barrel roll' than that 'my bad' thing that somehow became a part of hip vocab.

Thats just lame, it sounds to try-hard on Primes part. I understand that they downloaded the internet and get all earth terms from there, but its senseless for him to make that statement, "my bad" indeed. :(

I'd love to hear some great lines from Prime, actually.

Prime - "Come correct, son!" "Oh snap!" "Pwned!" "You got punk'd!" "Skeet skeet skeet."

don't forget:

Sam - "Hey Optimus - are you sure you;re not trying to take over the earth?"

OP - "Naw dawg - we's the shizzle fo rizzle!"

:(

hehe ok...I gotta admit. I WOULD like to hear Prime say Oh Snap.

:P

He pretty much took the words outta my mouth.

Finally, I'd like to address a similar beef that I have with the way this film's script apparently handled the issue of perspective. Like so many science fiction movies about aliens that come to Earth, this movie is about the "discovery" of the nature of our new friends, as we connect with human characters who learn more about the Transformers. This is a really tired and cliched approach, and especially ill-suited for the Transformers. Instead, I would have liked to see a movie in which the main characters, the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, discover US, learn things about humans, like we're the freakish aliens. Make humans the strange beings that appear on the screen briefly and then run away, allowing more time to focus on the development of the Autobot storyline and all the different characters. That, however, doesn't appear to be the movie you're getting. Oh well.

Ironhide - I'm gellin...HEY PRIME...YOU GELLIN?

Prime - Gellin no need for yellin.

Shia - I'm gelling.

Prime - You are SOO not gellin.

Although I'm not too sure how well that would have worked with the masses (it would take some heck of a good writing), I tend to agree. It would have been awesome and original. But, we all know Michael Bay wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole.

Aside from Bad Boys (which is "OK"... but nowhere near as good as some of its bretheren like Lethal Weapon etc), Michael Bay has never made a decent action movie.... EVER. Die Hard, Terminator, Aliens, Starship Troopers, Raiders, Crouching Tiger, etc..... THOSE are action movies.

Michael Bay has only made glossy, (and often pretty... but not in a Crouching Tiger way--- more in a nVidia/ATI video game way) that only succeed in making your brain turn off and tune out like you're in Clockwork Orange.

Literally, for a few years, he represented the worst Hollywood had to offer. Thankfully, a new crop of directors in the last 5 years have come up to save the genre.

Nah... it sounds like Greg wants another E.T. Spielberg has already done that. I dont know about you but i'll pass on that... i hope Bay does to.

Well the way the TF movie is set now has been done with every alien coming to earth movie i've seen in the last 10-15 years..like Greg says, it's been done to death already.

When reading this stuff I have flashbacks to the potential that coulda been Superman Returns and the piece of fecal matter we actually got. It absolutely broke my heart. Now I see it all happening again with the Transformers, another of my favorite heroes, and I don't know if I can take it...I may have to skip this movie for fear of dying anymore inside.

Why does Hollywood have to crap on my favorite characters!?!?! (save for Batman) it kills me :(

10-15 years? Try 50. Bay's Transformers movie is almost a carbon copy of 1950's sci-fi b movies... but with better effects of course.

That's fine (I love old b movies), but when I think Transformers, I've never thought "1950's b-sci-fi." :csad:

Good lord....I...can't...stop...puking! Prime says "my bad"?! Some one shoot me with a weasel launching gun, better yet arm me with the ghetto disruption bomb, I'll gladly sacrifice myself to save the autobots!....cough...sorry I had distilled melodrama put into my cereal :oldrazz:
But seriously the appraoch Greg wanted would have been incredible in the right hands and it would have really given us ample time to spend on the autobots. Humaizing them is one thing, but trying to get them to say modern slang isn't really that funny, it's kinda lame to me and speaks volumes of the way Bay and those involved are handling things. :trans: <---someone needs to make one of these with a 3rd face that's crying and then spins back.

Are people still anticapating this movie? Bay ****ed Tranformers right up their robotic hides!

We should be the rabid fanboys we truly are and tourch his ass for this! Come on!

Down with Bay! Down with Bay!

Man, the news on this movie is ssssoooo slow coming out, it's becoming rather annoying. The official site is a ****ing disgrace.
