Transformers Negatron: Discussion Thread for those that hate the way this movie is heading

Man, DL your obssessed with Megan's boobies...

If seeing Eva Mendez' display in Ghost Rider does nothing for me then I doubt Transformers will be solely saved by the chest of Megan Fox (whose character shouldn't even be in the movie IMHO).

We don't need that kind of negativity here.

*Looks around*

I forgot where I was there for a minute....this is EXACTLY where we need that kind of negativity. Sorry about that. :trans:

eva showing off her goodies did NOTHING for? do you like girls?

I heard that Eva doesn't even show anything in Ghost Rider except frumpy looking outfits. Megan is higher on my "I'd hit it" list.

frumpy looking outfits? eva's cleavage has a bigger role in the flick than she does

Man, Ghost Rider got some of the worst reviews I have ever read. They make it sound like it's worse than bad.

i don't really understand why. i mean, it wasn't good by any stretch, but i thought it was at least as good as Daredevil or FF

Well, IMO I think that Daredevil and FF are bringing the genre of comic book movies down. Daredevil, especially, doesn't match up to the source material which has a lot more substance than the movie did. I don't think Punisher and The Hulk helped that much either.

I found this parody over at the Transformers forum. I felt that, while a parody, it sums up Bay's filming prowess in a few lines:

An Interview With Bay Himself

INTERVIEWER

Hi Mr. Bay. How are you today.

BAY

I see the shot. One shot for 5 minutes. THAT is my ****ING movie.

INTERVIEWER

Wh...what?

BAY

Work with me, work with me...Think for a moment. Do you see it?

INTERVIEWER

See what?

BAY

My ****ING vision! Obviously my Michael Bayness is too great for your feeble mind to comprehend...

INTERVIEWER

Uhh...yeah. Mr. Bay, why is Optimus Prime a long nose truck?

BAY

Optimus who? Oh the flaming truck? Ahhh yeah. He's a long nosed truck because the ****ING women like 'em long.

INTERVIEWER

That...that's why? That makes no sense. How do you thing the fans will feel about this?

BAY

Fans? What fans? Transformers has no ****ING fans!

INTERVIEWER

The...OK we don't have much time. Did any of the fans suggestions have an impact on the film.

BAY

What ****ING fans? There are no fans? Fans? This is a Michael Bay movie. If I wanted fans I would make a ****ING Steven Speilberg movie.

INTERVIEWER

Of course. Fans, yeah, what a joke right? *gulp*

BAY

I can see it. Vision with me, just for a second. Imagine...a car...driving...driving fast...then BOOM an explosion for no reason! Then the transforms and blows up! Then! Then all of the piece explode and stuff! ****ING GENIUS! Do you see it.

INTERVIEWER

No, Mr. Bay, I don't see it. One more question (interrupted)

BAY

What's with the ****ING questions? This is an interview about me! Not 20 questions. Now let me ****ING talk!

INTERVIEWER

Of course. Now about that question. Why does Optimus Prime have a mouth? He never did in G1. This won't blow over with the fans very well.

BAY

Oh it will. Because that's why he has a ****ING mouth. He needs someplace to stick it!

INTERVIEWER

Ok, this interview is terminated.

BAY

**** ****ING ****!!! EXPLOSIONS!! EVERYWHERE!! I CAN SEE IT!! GO-BOTS AT EVERY TURN , EXPLODING BY THE HUNDREDS!!

The interviewer just walks out of the room and Bays voice continues to echo as distance between him and the interviewer grows. The interviewer leaves the building and a faint yell can be heard--

BAY

****!!!

Followed by an explosion...

Reading the first review, in the footage thread i don't like the fact that Speilburg had to twist Bay's arm to take on the project. Bay didn't want to do it, so Speilburg should have left him be. I told you guys Speilburg is the real 'Hitler behind this movie. Don't know why you guys keep defending him.

Ever heard of Godwin's Law? It says that as an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

From Wikipedia:

Godwin's Law does not apply to discussions directly addressing genocide, propaganda or other mainstays of the Nazi regime. Instead, it applies to inappropriate, inordinate, or hyperbolic comparisons of other situations to Hitler or Nazis.

There is a tradition in many newsgroups and other Internet discussion forums that once such a comparison is made, the thread is finished and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically "lost" whatever debate was in progress.

Anyone else here find it scary there are more pages in this Ranting Thread than in the Raver thread?

lol...that's it Golgo. You've killed the thread because you love talking about Nazi's.

If someone were to weigh the positives and negatives I'm sure the negative's would be the Kirstie Alley to the positive's Nicole Ritchie.

I like to think of it more along the lines of the Ravers' Wheelie as opposed to the Ranters' Unicron.

Although to be fair, there's 40 people posting in the negative thread and 36 in the positive.

Generally when people complain about something, they don't limit it to one post ;)

Any positive post that goes past one post tends to get stuck with the Bay Apologist label.

So, it's fairly equal when you look at WHO is posting, and not how MUCH they've posted.

Well, I've basically said all I wanted to say at the Transformers movie boards concerning this movie. I don't feel like having to go through all the trouble of posting everything in here all over again. All in all I just keep getting GINO vibes from this movie.

Not necessarily so. I remember in the Batman Begins thread there was a generally positive vibe. The only gripes I really remember were mostly about the suit and the fact that it wasn't more like the suit in Batman: Dead End. Though the discussion was positive there were more than one post on certain subjects. We were just really excited to be getting a great director who took the subject seriously...and it showed in the posts. They weren't one dimensional the way they are in this forum. There just isn't too many positive aspects to discuss because the film doesn't seem to deliver much more than eye candy. The plot points aren't really that interesting or more complicated than the source material to deserve in depth discussion.

True, but again the point remains that the number of unique visitors to each thread seems to be equal.

So, all things aside, it's fairly balanced.
