Automated Dialogue Replacement. Think of Hugh's video where he's just redoing the sound for Logan. A usual part of the post production process to add/redo dialogue when sound isn't as good etc. Maisie's work is just in a studio doing her lines again vs actually filming in character.

Thanks. I was wondering what that was, too. :p

You'd think Warlock would be a lock for the CG cool factor alone.

or a dragon!!!

Dani needs to stare down on the camera with contempt next time she does that, huh?

The character being added isn't Warlock. He's already in the movie (very briefly). Think big, Russian, & cgi...

Oh wow, no duh. Knew it had to be a character that was going to tie into the greater universe vs a more drastic change.

Interesting. So they are adding Colossus to New Mutants? That has to pretty much confirm that they'll be focusing on the sibling relationship between him and Magik in this film.

basically. Its not like we are talking about including Sinister.

Colossus is Illyana's brother and is a X-Man, and this is a X-spinoff, so... pretty easy to include him, it doesnt mean he has to have a big role, just one scene here and there and thats it. They can film that in 1 day easily, 2 at most. And if they want him for 3 scenes, well, in 4 days its all done.

Colossus.
Finally, This should have been added right from the start. Not a late addition.

I know I've been critical of Fox in the past, but some of their recent decisions have given me hope about this movie. After they replaced JB at the helm, a number of positive changes have been made, including the addition of Colossus. We've been working hard on pumping some life into what felt like a drab, hopeless film. It (might) actually be enjoyable now. I'll see soon enough.

man this sucks. Is it still going to be a horror movie or is it being turned into a light/fun movie like spiderman homecoming. I was hoping for something new and diffrent, but i guess JB wasn't the right person. Do you at least think his heart was in the right place?

so all directors arent the right person
but Kinberg somehow continues, because he must be the right one, right? :funny:

however buys that, congratulations :woot:

It's still a horror movie. But now with JB outta the way we can pump in some heart into the picture. Some humor being added is also a plus. The hope is that by the time you see the next trailer, both the fans of the New Mutants & more importantly the average person will actually know what it is they're looking at. An X-Men related superhero horror movie. Not a random bad horror movie with the only connection made to the X-Men being the word "mutants".

No guarantees but there's talk of adding an additional X-Man along with Colossus.

Edit: Forgot to answer your question about whether JB's heart was in the right place or not. I could go into a long rant about Josh Boone here, but I'm not going to. To put it simply his heart was definitely NOT in the right place.

thats sounds so exciting :ilv::ilv::ilv:
hope it happens.

Kinberg is the nice guy that's best friends with everyone (brings them to TSwift concerts, gets tattoos with "his" Xavier...whatever happened to that?), doesn't cause any drama and is non-controversial (probably doesn't have any skeletons in his closet...one would hope) and generally says the right things (before a movie comes out LOL). I don't blame Fox for giving the nice guy that maintains a smooth production a go with directing one of their movies. We all have to start somewhere.

That said his filmography and his history with the X-men is precisely why most fans of this franchise are all up in arms about his hiring. It just doesn't elicit a lot of confidence. The only worst thing than a newb is a "newb" that's already tackled these characters in a different role and absolutely **** the bed the last few times.

Fox should've started him small...direct Multiple Man maybe? He was the one that courted James Franco into starring in that movie. Maybe he should've helmed that one? With his supposed clout in the studio, it probably wouldn't be in development hell like it is now even with Franco's alleged indiscretions.

Anyways, New Mutants? :oldrazz:

Anya Taylor-Joy talking about the delay for the film:

Josh and I are really close, and he's a really wonderful collaborator, because he really keeps us involved in everything with the movie. He doesn't treat us like, 'You guys act and I make the vision.' He keeps us very involved in it, and incredibly invested. I think we have such a responsibility to the fans that we are going to make this movie right, and if that takes a bit more time, even though it's disappointing for people that we're not coming out at our April 13th slot, I think if we deliver a really great movie overall people will be happier. So we're striving for that! We're trying to make the best movie that we possibly can for the people who care about these characters.
