I don't know how can anyone doubt Slugzilla at this point. lol

and I think people should post proper quote of articles.

"The reshoots that the studio wants are now even more significant. We’re hearing that at least 50% of the movie may be reshot, and they’re adding one or two new characters who will be present throughout the entirety of the film—this isn’t simply adding a cameo. Moreover, Boone has been having some creative differences with the studio over the requested changes to the movie, so the reasons for the New Mutants delay are more complex than why Dark Phoenix is being pushed."

What they said in Collider was that the movie was ok, but could be better, which aligned with previous reports about test screenings.
You don't change 50% of a movie that's OK. Clearly Fox has issues with this one. I'm sorry but I believe slugzilla. Especially because he got right the Boone/Fox feud.

What they said in Collider was that the movie was ok, but could be better, which aligned with previous reports about test screenings. What Slugzilla's been saying is that Josh Boone is like a WWE villain and the movie's complete crap, you can read through his history, but he pretty much said the reports about test screenings were false. If he is on the project - which he may be - then it's clear that this dude has a hate ***** for Josh Boone and that the movie may not be as bad as he's letting on.

I'm not on the project nor do I go crazy when a movie undergoes reshoots because that's very very normal. But a movie that tested well doesn't need to undergo the type and amount of reshoots that this film is undergoing. They're practically reshooting the whole movie. A movie that tested well could have an additional week or so of reshoots to add somethings in but that's about it. To reshoot a large portion of the film is the biggest red flag in the industry that yea it's not going too well.

to me the saddest part of all of this about the big reshoots, is the decision to add a new character or two. That means the studio and producers arent happy with the characters the movie had in first place, which is dissapointing.

That doesnt mean that the script made a bad work with them neccesarily, but maybe Fox is scared the general audience wont connect/love these new characters because they are new? who knows. I expect anything from Fox, producers and execs

It does seem strange Fox ordered mass re-shoots just because the movie is 'okay' and not great. Plenty of okay movies have made money at the BO.

But maybe it's the Execs and their bonuses that is influencing this all.

If they actually felt the movie was okay they wouldn't be shelling out so much money to reshoot it. It's the same thing with JL. If it ain't broke, don't spend millions fixing it.

There are only a couple of things that make sense here, and it sure isn't what is being said about it being merely "okay."

1. Either the movie is awful and they are trying desperately to get something out of it. IE. The Justice League thing you mentioned.

2. Someone with pull has strongly objected to the content of the film and is either forcing major changes and/or attempting to get the film pulled completely.

I could maybe buy the "merely okay" thing if we were talking about Dark Phoenix and it only got pushed back three months. But this film has been pushed back a year and a half!

Exactly! You don't push a movie back this far without something being wrong or some big time person says it must be XYZ.

So many moving parts it's hard to keep track of what's going on at this point. So many changes being made/ideas purposed. Production is still moving forward, but I'm hearing a wide variety of rumors from different people regarding the future of the movie. On top of everything else, things have been far more complicated ever since the mouse entered the house. (Not in any "official" capacity of course)

Whatever you may think about my bias against JB effecting my opinion of his cut, the simple fact that this thing has been "delayed" till August 2019 should give you a general idea of how well the culmination of his "genius vision" was recieved. Everyone involved breathed a sigh of relief when he was "removed".

I will say this though, JB is not solely responsible for this debacle. The execs that bought into his vision for the New Mutants, even after seeing raw footage, scripts, etc, and being repeatedly warned by certain people that this wasn't going to work, should also share the blame.

And, unless those characters are Warlock and Doug, it also means they're not happy with the actual New Mutants.

Maybe they'll change the rating

Please watch Deadpool 2 in theaters. It'll be packed full of children and parents despite the r rating. This was the case at my showings for Deadpool 1 and Logan.

R rated + movie theater = I have to take my kid to the movies.

R rated + streaming service = I don't have to take my kid anywhere and can do something else.

So, no need to change ratings.

But still, it should hit theaters, imo. The kids will go either way. Just have Deadpool host one trailer without him actually being in the movie, and attach it to Deadpool 2. That'll bring the kids in ; D

Everybody 'round me saying I should relax
'Cause I been going hard 'til my eyes roll backward
All I want to do is forget about my past
And smoke a little weed, really nothing too drastic
Any time you see me in a picture and I'm smiling

I feel like those lyrics represent the movie right now.

He hasn’t been removed though. Also Josh’s vision is spectacular! If this is what’s going on my guess is the new execs are the ones who don’t know what they are doing!

I mean I can’t believe some of you are buying this. Boone hasn’t been removed.

Looks like Slugzilla was legit. Film got delayed by over a year after already being pushed back to next year. Sounds like the entire film is being reshot since reports are now saying that it will be over half. I'd honestly be surprised if this gets released thanks to Disney.

Assuming that Disney don't scrap the entire film, how exactly will X-23 and Colossus fit into this if Colossus is dead in Logan's timeline? And if Disney manage to keep the casts, I feel like they'll have to work really hard to explain all the continuity errors and the possibility that Cable's time travel caused multiple timelines.

If she's under contract, ATJ will likely be forced to return by the studio. I'm guessing Demon Bear will play a larger role since the film was reported to have no villain. And that it was a horror film which wasn't even scary and ultimately boring and directionless.

Surprised that Karma isn't appearing. I blame Russian censorship of LGBT characters.

I hope that reshooting the whole thing makes it genuinely good.

According to Slugzilla, Colossus won't be in the movie anymore.

So it's set in a future where most mutants are dead or imprisoned? Works for me. It creates an issue in a few years when during the mid-2020s the X-Men will have to avert the events of Logan. Not sure what that would mean for the New Mutants.

That's assuming that Disney doesn't do to the X-Men franchise what they did to Lucas Arts. I honestly think that you're going to see some films get canceled mid-filming or even in post-production.

Boone himself confirmed last year the movie is set in present day, like Deadpool.
so either Fox/producers are just ignoring Logan events and forcing X23 on here, or they moved the setting post-Logan. in this case, not all the X-Men are dead, according to Logan movie and Mangold himself, that said on interviews they wanted to leave that open, to not limit other movies (that may want to use some X-Men)

My friend, if Boone's vision was as spectacular as you believe, we'd have a movie coming to theatres in about two weeks.

But you're right about one thing, Boone hasn't been removed. He's become a marionette.

slugzilla.... Im curious about one thing: has Fox pushed Boone to change the setting of the movie? from present day to the future maybe? or in the past?

now my question is is she really out after all this, because i really would like to see this:
