Next Assassin's Creed Game Reportedly Set During The Viking Age

There were some Viking warrior women. So there could be an option again

YESSSSS! Can’t wait for this trailer to drop. AC have historically made some of my absolute favourite cinematic trailers.

Wonder if they will let us select male/female protag again.

But I want my raven companion d****t!! :argh:
Would the raven feature a raven vision?

I hope the protagonist have some special hq whereyou can view his/her trophies, outfits, weapons, stuff outside of the pause menu. Origins/Odyssey are so damn big that they could have easily given Bayek/Alex a hideout.

yeah, instead of an eagle companion and eagle vision, you have a raven companion and raven vision.

I know how eagle vision has always been a thing in this series, but ravens are big in Norse mythology and culture.

I don't mind that. I think they could give the Raven an attack set moves. Like I remember it can attack the enemies in Odyssey but I rarely noticed it as that was the AI doing it.

Also I haven't played the DLC for Odyssey but I watched it this week. Damn those 3 episodes could have been an entirely new game. Elysium, the Underworld and Atlantis look great, especially Atlantis. That was really the Isu game of this series. The second DLC for Origins was nice as well. I'm assuming they have a siX part DLC for Valhalla as well. Though I hope we get an entirely new game neXt year as well.

well, we don't even know if we'll get a raven instead of an eagle this time. that's just what I'm hoping for, since I think it makes sense given the Viking setting.

but it will probably be eagle again.......

Could be an interesting alternate viking game for me as I have Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Online with those being high fantasy. Assassin's Creed balances fantasy with realism and especially by using real historical cultures/events.

Just sucks that the present time elements are still in the franchise even though to a much smaller extent. It's just a turn off to me and if they ever reboot the franchise by redoing the first game, I hope they remove all the present day crap
I'm not a huge fan of the present day segments as well. They have been a disturbance ever since the Connor games.

But if they have an interesting storyline and set up then its fine to me. So i wouldn't want them to entirely drop it. I just hope they know exactly the direction they are going unlikein the last three games, where they are just running in circles and not really leading to anything.

I already like this protagonist in terms of look. A badass beast of a man!

I was hoping they would use a female for the marketing/cover. The reason why i chose Alexios was he was featured in the game cover and Kassandra wasn't really as present in the marketing compare to Alexios. So as much as i want to use the female character I would probably select the one that is in the cover. Unless they give us the option to switch characters at any moment.

Alexios was the cover star but I remember hype and marketing revolving around Kassandra the most. It even annoyed me and couldn't wait to get the game and use Alexios as my protagonist so I put the spotlight on him.

The 2nd art for this game could be the cover and it does feature a fighting female. Cover art stars doesn't matter though and Alexios/Kassandra were pretty much equals with the same stories.

Do you play fighting games and main characters based on cover and being the face of the franchise/marketing?

Fighting games are different though compare to Ac Odyssey. You can switch characters in any momentand don't have to start from scratch.

But in story heavy games like Ac, it does matter who is marketed as the face of the game. Like even before I played my first Ac game, Odyssey was already out and there were a lot of posters and displays featuring Alexios in the stores. I didn't know about a female counterpart until I looked it up online.

I'm wondering if this game will be ready in time for this Holiday.

If so, this will be the 1st major 3rd party launch title for the new consoles.

I'm surprised they didn't do a double reveal with a male and female protag. Granted there is a woman in the background on the right. But I don't think she's the female option.

Ok, that was a bit boring. Sorry I’m sure it’s great for others but I’m a bit over horse mythology with god of war and Skyrim etc. but that’s ok. I’ll just skip and check in with the next one

I always choose the canon character and Kassandra was the character that the devs considered the official canon protagonist of Odyssey. She is also the canon protagonists in the books. I'll probably choose gender in this game based on the same criteria.

Its Ubisoft and its the Assassin's Creed. Plus Ubisoft would need to release somethingfor this year.

The reason why their other games were delayed because Ghost Recon didnt have great sales and great reviews. While this one, I don't see why how can they screw this up given their track record with Odyssey, unless its coronavirus related. This is probably guaranteed a huge seller.

I'm hoping its cross gen. As I wouldn't buy ps5 until like March of 2021. And I'm thinking of picking this game in its first month.

It's a given that this will get a Series X upgrade patch. Not sure how theyll do it with PS5. Hopefully it will just be a patch like the Series X version so we dont have to buy multiple copies of the game for current and next gen.

I was hoping they'd finally just pick a female protagonist this time around, and just build the game around her. It's vikings so I thought that would give them the perfect chance while not worrying about sales. I honestly still don't know what the point of being able to play as Alexios was in the last game and it honestly feels like a lot of work for something that felt mandated. How the game was written and played, he really felt like the alternative imo. Oh well, maybe next time.

well, next gen launch title confirmed for Holiday 2020!

also good to see Xbox (and Series X) with the marketing rights.

basically, it looks like Viking: The TV Series the game......haha!

protag in marketing is male. hope there is still option for female protag.

also, with the Odin/Raven mythology, I'm still hoping your companion is a raven instead of eagle. it just fits, especially with the Odin vision(?) looking like a hooded assassin!

edit: Here's the trailer

The trailer looks great.

But Lord, I didn't see the logo of ps4/ps5 and just freaking Xbox! Ugh.

Seeing the Xbox logo threw me off. I don't feel excited anymore. Unless they confirmed its ps4 release, then great.

Looks mighty good although it's just a cinematic. I was right about the protagonist being a badass beast
