says nothing about female protag option. just that you will play as "Eivor," warrior and leader of your clan. So, maybe only male option this time?

if so, it would be a bit disappointing, but the main character looks cool and badass enough....haha.

Seeing the Xbox logo threw me off. I don't feel excited anymore. Unless they confirmed its ps4 release, then great.

So what if it was shown on an xbox version with xbox logos? You know it's likely coming to PS 4/5 as well and it'll probably look just as good.

Not feeling excited anymore because of that is really nitpicking.

Maybe because viking warriors were usually mostly men and because the franchise has mostly been male centered.

I'm way more excited for this game than Black Flag, but I remember picking up Black Flag when I got the PS4 at launch since the launch titles were kind of slim picking.

Why do you like playing as a women so much?

The shallow reason?

cuz I'm a guy and if I'm going to be staring at a character for the entire playthrough, I'd rather it be a hot/sexy chick.

Other than that, I always like to play as strong, female characters if given the choice. and after watching the Vikings TV series, it showed strong female Viking leaders like Lagertha (sp?) and other female warriors.

and you do see female warriors in this trailer, too.

also, in folklore/fantasy, you have female valkyrie warriors, who often have a connection to ravens and raven symbolism.

well, I'm way more interested in Vikings than pirates. so I'm definitely getting this game at launch.

The pirate era fascinates me and Black Flag is one of my favorite AC games but I am more excited for this. I got into vikings and norse mythology because of Thor, Elder Scrolls games and the Vikings show.

I could see this game being Ike a standard AC game but having fantastical elements sprinkled and dlc like for Origins.

I'll be surprised if there isn't a Thor(Nors mythology figure, not marvel)expansion story pack where you go into a secret cave belonging to Odin and you find a statue of Thor and you gain his hammer/powers

speaking of AC, I just checked my Xbox library of games, and it turns out I own AC Odyssey!

must have picked it up digitally on sale during Black Friday or something. and, I own a bunch of DLC content for it, so it must have been the Gold edition or something.

It was a overexaggerated phrase to show my excitement for the game...are you really that petty that you would go ruin another persons fun to make yourself feel better?

If it makes you sleep better at night, the german ubisoft page has ingame screenshots i have seen before posting.

it will be interesting to see how they incorporate Norse mythology, like Odin, into the Assassin's lore.

I don't think it was by chance that in this trailer, Odin appeared as a cloaked/hooded Assassin looking figure before turning into a raven. And, he was the only one that looked like the traditional Assassin with the hooded cloak.

maybe to the Norse Assassins, Odin is their "Assassin King/God." Or at least that is the form that Odin takes when appearing to the Assassins. And maybe only those who are Assassins, like the main character, can see Odin in that form.

it could also serve as an in-game lore explanation as to why the Vikings revere ravens in their culture, since Odin is often called the Raven King/God. So ravens would symbolize the Viking Assassins, similar to how the eagle symbolized Assassins in other cultures.

also, in Norse mythology, Odin has 2 ravens he sends out to gather information. They literally act as his eyes and ears, which is essentially what your bird companion in past games did.

so, it all fits even from a game mechanic perspective.

I understand, sorry for being so defensive...its just that its been a while since i was really excited for something and especially with the current times...seeing AC finally going with the setting i always wanted and love, gets me really hyped.
I know that trusting screenshots or nice CGI trailers or even gameplay trailers is a bit a of a tricky thing.

I loved all the AC games and especially Origins and Odyssey so i do put my trust in the Ubisoft developers when it comes to Assassins creed...but yeah, healthy wariness should be applied.
