Next Assassin's Creed Game Reportedly Set During The Viking Age

70 hrs in and yeah I do love it, Kassandra is awesome.

Though I hate the Mercenaries popping up whenever I'm doing something crucial lol

Haha yeah that can be infuriating. Have you played the Middle-Earth games? They have a similar thing with orcs you’ve crossed in the past popping up and messing up your mission haha.

I played Shadow of Mordor and loved it, haven't played the second one cause I heard mixed things.

Don’t let the haters deter you; Shadow of War is one of the best games out there. It expands upon the Nemesis System and some fans didn’t like that but I felt like it enhanced the game even further. Plus you get to command entire armies of orcs and sack castles, fight the Balrog and the Ringwraiths, and explore multiple regions of Mordor. I can’t recommend it enough.

Guess I'm going to have to pick it up after AC Odyssey lol

Nice. Apparently 35 hours of content!

There's a report for a standalone Basim game. I hope it's true.

Yeah, was definitely curious about the direction for that character moving forwards. Would actually kinda love him as a protag for the next trilogy. I think he could be a good character to potentially set up as an anti-hero with a redemption arc of sorts? I could almost see him as a bit of an Edward Kenyway type character, starting out with his own agenda (Presumably tracking down incarnations of his children etc) but ending up doing the right thing etc.

The Basim game is supposed to be "smaller" as well. But honestly I don't think Ubisoft can commit to something "smaller" concerning the AC series.

I expect they may confine the story to a single city, but the city itself will be huge.

I'm guessing its an easy cash grab while Infinity is still years away.

I hope its true, because I need an Ac game like Unity and Syndicate that aren't so bloated. Something like 50 hours or less.

Ubisoft have issues with their pipeline so they want things they drop now to last a while.

I dont even want to play Valhalla cause of the time itll take up

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but the huge open world aspects of Odyssey, Origins and Valhalla are what I love about those games. After playing those games, I tried to go and play Syndicate and I couldn’t get into it at all.

is it? I hear the opposite lol

I think AC Black Flag was a good size imo.
From my files, Odyssey is over 300 hours in my file save.

Valhalla is still under 300 hours in my file save after 5 festivals, that Isle of Skye eXpansion and several free updates.

Black Flag is pretty long IF you maXed out the level of your ships, which is the only way to defeat legendary ships. I remember returning it to only sink ships for 2 weeks just to upgrade my ship and do that online send your ship side quest to collect collectibles.

With Odyssey I still haven't maXed out the level of my ship as it would take 100 hours just to find resources. You don't do this with Valhalla. I still haven't find those riddles in Odyssey as well. With Valhalla the only free content left for me to do is those Mastery challenges.

I didn't know until now, but Ubisoft added a story of Eivor meeting Kassandra to AC Valhalla.

I really wish they'd give us another game or 2 starring Kassandra in different time periods. I dont understand why Ubisoft went through the trouble of making a protagonist immortal who could be the protagonist in as many games as they want in any time period they want and then didnt give her any sequel games.

I think the answer is simple: "Ubisoft doesn't have a plan, they just chase after whatever idea currently catches their eyes".

I wish we had more time Byaek from Origins. He was my favorite of the new characters. Alexios is in second. Just one game with Byaek wasn't enough.

But I am not fond of making Kassandra the canon Eagle Bearer. They should have done both.

I honestly wish they'd kept the Ezio formula. I loved getting to spend all that time with a character, from birth to death. (Or at least old age).

I think it would've been better to just not bother with Alexios or Male Eivor in the first place, Kassandra was outright confirmed as canon and regardless of which gender you pick in Valhalla your character's name is Eivor Varinsdottir (Varin's daughter). They should've just committed to female Eiver/Male Odin and not made Alexios a protagonist so they wouldn't have had to do twice as much voice acting with the main character and go to absurd lengths to avoid making gender specific comments (Valhalla especially was guilty of this). A waste of resources to appease executives who don't think female protagonists can sell games.

Yeah, agreed. Even though I played through as Male Eivor, I think the narrative could've been stronger if they just committed to female Eivor. Would've made the Odin connection feel more unique, I think. And could've allowed for more interesting character interactions with the Saxons.
