NFL Offseason & Waiting for the Swifties Return Thread

I called them not taking a QB :o

Unless they get one in the 3rd. As for Chubb, I don't think teams think he has a lot left. So Browns may very well resign him for cheap
I posted about Chubb after they picked Judkins. I think Chubb is gone, but I still think he'll help someone.

OMG, I freaking LOVE WWE being part of the NFL draft. You go Seth!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I love Chubb and want him back. But it's clear given he hasn't signed that teams are worried about his knee still. So he's gonna end up being cheap for someone

There's a video of him squatting 540 pounds. While that isn't as much as I can do, I think it demonstrates his knee is doing pretty well. LOL

Whether it'll hold up is another issue, but the same can be said about any RB with or witthout a prior injury.

I aint the guy ya gotta sell, lol. It's the GMs around the league

I think he'd be a great addition to any team; even one with an outstanding RB. Having two effective RBs is underrated and Chubb is a guy who will just punish you and soften up a defense. More teams need the thunder and lightning.....or two thunders......

So, let the GMs around the league know that I said so.....

Seriously though......the Browns were one of the teams I was paying pretty close attention to and for the life of me, I don't understand picking Gabriel over Sanders. I mean, I know he comes with a lot of fanfare, bluster, etc., but I think the guy is a good kid, a hard worker, and takes his job seriously. He's also a guy who just might be able to help them right now. Picking him where they went QB should have been a no-brainer. IDK, maybe I'm wrong about him, but I think he can be a very good QB in the right system.

I think the Browns have done a solid, but not great job. Instead of drafting RB where they did, I'm keeping Chubb, going WR or maybe TE (although picking up Fannin in the 3rd was a good move....I didn't think he'd be there).

Oh well......that's it from this wanna be GM. LOL

I think the reasoning behind not taking Sanders is simple: they don't think he is a franchise QB and they're going to be using the 1st round they got from the Jags to move up next year. Gabriel is drafted to be a developmental backup. Like what they wanted to do with DTR but he sucked, lol. My issue with the Gabriel pick is you don't waste a 3rd round pick on that. I wish the Browns would have waited on him. I can't imagine his market was extensive.

I think he was about a 5th rounder, but here's the thing.......maybe the Browns don't "think" Sanders is a franchise QB, but he's sure as hell better than Gabriel. "Maybe" the Browns are wrong and they would have a year to evaluate that. In any case, they get a better player. IDK....Maybe they don't want to win and intentionally are assuring substandard play (no offense to Flacco) at QB (the most important position on the field) to assure a higher pick. I was surprised to see that Vegas has the Browns with the least wins next year because I think they are better than that. Maybe that will change after the draft.

But at the same time, no one else is picking Sanders either. All the other QB needing teams except the Steelers have picked a different QB. So, there has to be some reason for that

And the Browns traded up for Sanders. What an odd way for this all to play out, lol!

I am all for the pick. I wasn't interested at pick #2, but in the 5th round? I will roll that dice

Shedeur Sanders falling to the fifth round is crazy. So curious to see how his career will play out.

Browns are throwing something against the wall and hoping it sticks. Odd doesn’t begin to describe how this played out.

Now, I come at this as someone who didn't view Sanders as a guy I wanted at pick #2. I didn't feel like he was THAT level of a QB. But he's also not a 5th round pick either. So I am inclined to think there was some kind of league wide message being sent here cause of all the he is pulling an Eli talk and such. Cause there isn't really a rational explanation I can understand for why he went in the 5th. But, as a Browns fan....I will gladly take it lol! I didn't want him at #2, but at #144? Absolutely lol

I think they wasted a pretty valuable pick on Gabriel, who, at best, I see as an average backup. Great guy though......

I hated the a Gabriel pick when they picked him, lol! I was like why are you drafting a future backup QB in the 3rd round when you have possible starters on the board? That pick was nonsense. But overall, while I don't agree with the trade down personally, I like the Browns draft overall. Yeah, 2 QBs in the draft is weirdness and how they ended up with Sanders is an all-time WTF moment, but outside that, I like the LB, RBs, and TE they drafted and even if I hate the trade down and passing on Hunter, you still have 2 picks next year 1st round. Which isn't a bad thing

I didn't know whether to like or laugh at your last post, but chose the former...very funny BTW. The Browns IMO, REALLY need help at WR, but maybe they've got something up their sleeve or maybe they don't think they need WRs because they don't think they have anyone who can throw them the ball.. :funny: I think they had a good draft also, but really would have stuck with Chubb and gone WR in the 2nd. Luther Burden (and many others) were available and he got snapped up by the Bears soon thereafter. I think there was plenty of RB talent where they picked up Gabriel. If I've got Chubb, I like having Skattebo much more than having Gabriel and he was available. Freaking love their TE pick and was surprised he was still on the board when they got him.

What I find funny is that all these experts are all over the place on who did well in the draft (and not so experts like me too LOL) and who didn't, but, TBH, we aren't going to know until we get into the season next year. NY G fans are going to love Skattebo.

That's just it, we won't know how good they actually did until these guys play and develop. WR I think is a lost cause this season unfortunately. Unless they get lucky with some post June 1st cut players on other teams

You're probably right, but I don't think it had to be. You've got a very productive #1 and adding someone opposite him AND the TE is a game changer. Right.....who knows, Burden could bomb and Judkins could be the next Derrick Henry, but, well prolly not the latter. :funny:

Good draft in spite of Professor Nitpickey's (me) analysis.....at least that's what it looks like on the surface.

And, BTW, I can totally see why you didn't like the Hunter trade. Lining him up opposite Ward and Jeudy makes way too much sense. I guess they were balancing the advantages of having what is probably at least one high #1 pick next year.

I think the Jags have put Trevor Lawrence on notice. I feel bad for that guy being on that team. What an awful organization.

Mason Taylor was born to be a jet. He comes from a great family; his dad was a great jet player and a Hall of Famer. I expect big things from him!
