Apocalypse Nicholas Hoult is Beast!

KG absolutely nailed Hank McKoy's personality but I've not liked any of the visuals we've had for any version of Beast so far.

Its just a very poor version of Beast. Aside from the lackluster performance of Nicholas Hoult, the people responsible for the script of DOFP/Apocalypse just didn't care about him. For someone who creates gadgets and who has been there in the X-Mansion other Prof X, he still didn't come off as cool or really important to the team. He's just there.

I am a little disappointed that they again gave him nothing to do. Look at Hoult in Mad Max. He played that character so well he has it in him to be the Beast we know and love but they keep writing him as sullen and timid. Still scared of being himself. Why was the reason in Apocalypse? I get DoFP it fit with the character. But in this they didn't even give us a reason why Beast wasn't Beast. At least Mystique they attempted to cover it with a story purpose. So hopefully Beast is in full form from now on. It seems that way given the ending.

I mean, you got flashes of his classic persona a few times, like when he was asking Xavier about Moira, and when they got captured at Alkali Lake when he asks Mystique about someone stronger, etc. But it's like they just don't know what to do with the character.

Agreed. It's more or less the same exact Beast we got in FC and DOFP. Nothing has changed, really.

Also, he should have been in Beast form the entire movie. Not sure why he wasn't.

It was probably either they want to save the budget or they were aware that the Beast make-up doesn't look great or something about Nicholas Hoult, maybe they want to his face without the make-up or the actor doesnt want to be put on Beast make-up/look all the time. Anyway, story-wise It didn't add anything to his story.

I thought the character seemed like he had matured in apocalypse, he was very cheeky to charles about moira which made him seem more confident and when he talked to raven he seemed more confident, its just that they probably didn't wanna change him to much.
