Apocalypse Nightcrawler in the Apocalypse Movie - Part 1

He was really good. My second favorite character in this movie behind Quicksilver imo.

Damn, I'm SO happy they didn't screw him up. He was a beacon of enjoyment in an otherwise pretty bad movie, like Grammar's Beast was in X3. I was afraid when I saw Nightcrawler's outfit and hair for the first time that he was going to be all emo all the time. In fact, I liked all of the new main characters (Storm, Kurt, Jean, and Scott). They gave them some personality, unlike the very first X-Men film where they were all just kind of... there... but I'm disappointed they didn't give enough time (or plot) to explore them.

"I'm blue!" cracked me up.

Looooved Kodi's portrayal of young Kurt! My favorite of the bunch. <3
He was so adorable and the audience I was with responded to all of his scenes. :D

He's one of the (many) reasons I saw the movie again yesterday.

PERFECT DEPICTION......... but...........

Nightcrawler growling at the end... why? He's not an "animal-like" mutant like Wolverine, Sabretooth, Beast, Wolfsbane and Feral. :loco:

It was totally out of character IMHO.

You mean how it was sort of like how he smiled for the passport photo?

I can say Nightcrawler is the second most highlighted character in the movie, behind Quicksilver.

Yeah I didn't like that. It didn't come off as fierce... but more like goofy.

He was great too. I enjoyed his moments. "I'm blue!" and the moment he woke up and ruined the moment between Moira and Charles lols. That part cracked me up.

Yeah, I didn't get the whole "growling" thing. Maybe it was supposed to be him trying to "act tough"? But other than that, they nailed him in this film, I can't wait to see more with him, and the rest of the new students!

I liked Nightcrawler he was generally good. A little try hard on the comedy which wasnt all that funny as it was predictable

Maybe it was suppose to be a "funny act" from his part?

Seems like alot of people like the comic relief in comic book movies, and nightcrawler i thought was a good one, reminded me of evolution.

I think he made me laugh just once, the Alkali Lake scene.

I loved the moment where he teleport the Professor and you see him switch through dimension with a tunnel effect. That was amazing and they made it feel like a breath. When Jean breath after Phoenix it reminded me of it and i found it beautifull. Like a shared breath. In the final fight therés even a brief moment when Scot use his tunnel vizion in first person view. And it felt tunnel too. I thought it gave the battle a nice flow, with Apocalypse disapering like fleeting sand

he was trying a little to hard to be like Cummings Nightcrawler, instead of given his own take on in

they even did the same running gag where everytime he started talking about his past in the circus someone would cut him off

Thought McPhee's Nightcrawler was a lot more jovial,
whereas Cummings' had more angst with some lighter elements thrown in.

It also come with the setting, in X2 Nightcrawler was linked with the themes of mutilation or memory, he had an aura of mystery and darkness, he was also a child of god and Stryker's story is about his son. That was really more dark and had more depth that webt along the context

I also thought it was odd that he already had the face carvings, I mean, if he had them for the same reason he did in X2, that's a sins for his age

if there was a different reason for him to have them this time, it should have been explained

Of the 'new' characters introduced in this film, Nightcrawler was my favorite.
