IF they did a movie with Robin in it, it should be a TOTALLY different movie.

and if they did it in the 3rd, it should only be Dick, NOT robin.

i agree DIFFERENT MOVIE. i mean i dont think it would be a good nolan film and i want bale to stay as batman, who has stated he would quit if said character was introduced

no do not introduce robin, i cant se ehwo he would work in any way no matter what shape any one gives him, i don't like the idea at all, the outfit would be illogical also an eye piece does nto secure you ID. so they would have to design a mask and then it would look stupid so no plus i have never like the robin factor
All you had to say was this because everything else you said was just redundant leading to the bold.

If Nolan does Robin, I could see it work. It'd be tough though.

I agree, it'd definatly be tough, but with the fact that he doens't like it, plus no one else on the cast liking it, i don't think everyone would be happy in the making much less in the outcome.

I really don't want Robin in these films. I just feel that it would make them kiddish agian but thats me.

The POLL has spoken!

I sincerely hope that Nolan keeps Robin out and doesn't get forced to put a character in against his wishes, ala Raimi with Venom.

I would really prefer Robin not be in any Nolan Batman movies.

Do you guys want Robin, or don't you?

Because from the Robin camp (no pun intended), I'm hearing a lot of

"Robin HAS to be in it! He's an integral part of the story!!"

followed by

"But it doesn't have to be Dick Grayson, it could be Tim Drake" ... "He doesn't need to be a sidekick, he could be recon/cleanup/mechanic/staying at home washing his tights" ... "It doesn't need to be tights! It could be black armor like Batman" ... "It doesn't need to be Robin, it could be Nightwing" ... "They should do it exactly like Dark Victory, but without the character name, the origin story, the motivation or the costume" ...

For godssake, stick to your guns! If you love Robin in the comics and want to see him portrayed faithfully in a movie, don't dilute it away till you have something left that in no way even resembles "Robin" anymore...

I AGREE!!!

I don't think that Robin should be in the Nolan movies on the basis that he clearly has no love for the character. I'd rather see someone who has respect for the character interpret him than someone who lacks it.

why do we need robin? yeah he's in the comics. but people dont buy the comics and watch the movies because of robin. it's because of batman. why not throw in batgirl while you're at it.

They did that already...it didn't turn out so well.

that's probably the only good reason not too include Robin in any hypothetical film.

There's a whole thread here full of people who disagree with your statement. :o

I do not like the Robin character because I think that he detracts from Batman's character. Batman is lonely and antisocial, so he should not have a teenage boy living in his house and jumping around rooftops with him.

Teenage sidekicks are kind of obsolete in this day and age, so I don't see why Batman's still has to have such a huge presence in the minds of many fanboys.

I actaully like Robin, okay Chris Odonald and Burt Ward played campy ones but the one in the cartoon fitted well with Batman, who was still brooding and antisocial. And why can't tehy darken Robins story, but still keep it light.

^I believe Nolan can fit Robin into his universe if he can fit the Batmobile in as "the tumbler". But like others said, if he doesn't like Robin, then he shouldn't touch the character.

Batman is lonely and antisocial,

No, he's not. At all. You can't just read a couple Frank Miller books and then use that characterization to stand for all of Batman. Batman, in his early years, was quite antisocial, but characters develop.

Batman has had more allies in his history than just about any other character. He's had a plethora of sidekicks, he's a founding member of the Justice League, leader of The Outsiders, and there's a book (and soon to be cartoon) that's dedicated to Batman teaming up with other heroes.

Don't add robin christopher Nolan, just don't. Robin would take the darkness out of the film. this is what the dark knight would of been like if robin were In the film.

Batman: I know what I have to become to stop men like him
Robin: Holy (insert strangest word here) Batman! I have spotted the joker!
(silence)
Robin: And I made our suits more stylish! Look! I added more detail into the suit!
Batman: Those aren't details, they are nipples.
Robin: well, gay people like me need movies also!
Batman: I QUIT! EVEN THOUGH I AM ON A CONTRACT, I QUIT!!

and we would lose Christian Bale. Besides, almost all of the major actors said they DO NOT want robin in the film, so if Nolan put robin in the film, almost everyone would quit.
