it was like 20 seconds...you'll all live lolol

I am literally crying when I see all this acceptance with ethnic and gender diversification. I live in Brazil and I can say with certainty that here in the country we live in a tough and reluctant moment to progress. it's a cool breeze to read that MCU fans are ready to embrace the idea of diversity in the movies.
I never said anything even remotely resembling this argument. So you're either purposely trying to change the argument or you are completely missing my point. Now, what I did say is the list of strong women roles (especially in action films) is much smaller than those of men. Which is not even a real debate. Also, many of these stronger female characters are much more recent creations. So times are changing and they're changing for the better. But that is not the core argument at play here. The real question is,why is it when in a battle sequence large groups of men accomplishing a task is awesome while people want to make a group of women doing it out to be a crime against cinema? The answer is simple: we're more used to seeing men in these types than women, and change is scary to people. It's an inherently sexist view. There is no way around that fact.
I mean, if you want to do lists of sex vs sex and shift the argument in that direction, we can do that. I am going to win though. But to counter your list:
Mel Gibson
Arnold Schwarzennager
Sylvester Stallone
Mel Gibson
Keanu Reeves
Kurt Russell
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Jason Statham
Dwayne Johnson
Daniel Craig
Sean Connery
Roger Moore
Pierce Brosnan
Hugh Jackman
Robert Downey Jr.
Chris Evans
Vin Diesal
Paul Walker
Mark Hammel
Harrison Ford
Russell Crowe
Henry Cavill
Ben Affleck
Aaron Eckhart
James McAvoy
Bruce Willis
This list took me 5 seconds. I can name like 100 more. Also most of these dudes have played multiple action heroes. Doesn't seem fair representation for what amounts to at least 50% of our population, does it? Thankfully this is starting to change, though. Even if there is the occasional push back to this progress.
The one thing you failed to realize in all those names they all have charisma and staying power, those names hit and stayed around but how many other appointed “IT” guys have come and gone. Same with female actresses like I listed, there have been alot of actresses who come and go but don't put butts in seats. Anyone can be a superhero now, its not that special or tough given a tree and talking raccoon have come along.
Dont get mad at me if hollywood follows the money and actors or actresses who put butts in the seats. There not gonna put $250 mil behind a movie just so they can be progressive, they do it if theres money to be made.
Guaranteed black panther 2 will see an uptick in budget now that its proven the character can work.
I really hope there’s some truth in that!On the Campea show today they brought up an article that states that Hemsworth re upped his deal back in 2017 for phase 4.
Yeah you pretty much summed up my feelings on the "pandering" A Force scene. I don't care for the A-Force scene, but I'm happy for anyone that had a positive reaction to the scene and the scene itself is harmless. I get it, there are some far-left idiots that feel that everything has to be diverse and that all white male characters are awful. But I feel that the A-Force scene wasn't done for political reasons and that the Russo brothers thought it would be a good scene, that's all.The A-Force scene was a little on the nose but it didn't really bother me. These films have become such huge pop culture events. I'm a guy and as I watch these movies sometimes I sit and realize - I'm not the only one here enjoying this movie. That moment was not meant for me. And that's OK.

Hollywood rarely takes risks. Black Panther was a potential risk for them. But it had Marvel to boost it. If they never take a chance on female action stars, then we'll never know if the audience will support or ignore them. I wanna see less damsels in distress. That's played out. I wanna see less women whose sole purpose is to provide motivation to a hero or provide him some kisses. 3 dimensional characters regardless of gender. The one thing you failed to realize in all those names they all have charisma and staying power, those names hit and stayed around but how many other appointed “IT” guys have come and gone. I do wonder now if we'll get a Thor 4 or simply he'll have a lead role in Guardians 3? And hopefully Tessa Thompson is brought along for the ride.
I'm curious if anyone was reminded of the ending for Spider-Man 3 with the last scene.
He should be supporting in it. I love him, but not enough to want him to highjack that movie. The gotg franchise is my second favourite franchise in the MCU, after The Avengers. They will always come first for me before Thor. I want it to be about them.I do wonder now if we'll get a Thor 4 or simply he'll have a lead role in Guardians 3? Gonna have to remind me of that one. How is the last scene like Spidey 3 exactly?I'm curious if anyone was reminded of the ending for Spider-Man 3 with the last scene.
It just felt hokey that in a big chaotic battle all the women in the MCU were in the same place lining up for a trailer shot.
Maybe it just comes down to timing for me,
Worked
- Wonder woman in no mans land worked
- wanda in avengers 2 stepping out to help hawkeye worked
- wanda ripping out ultrons heart worked
- black widow, wanda and okoye vs proxima in IW worked.
- pepper saving tony and the day in ironman 3 in armor worked.
- black window and wanda in all of civil war work.
Peggy shooting guns in cap 1 worked.
- wasp in the kitchen fight in antman 2 worked.
Didnt work
- Captain marvel fighting in her movie to Im just a girl didnt work.
- black widow fighting random security gaurds in ironman 2 didnt work.
- the scene in this movie didnt work.
Theres times where when natural and part of the story it works, when its just dropped at random times it doesnt. Just my opinion though
So would this suddenly be less hokey if it was T'Challa, M'Baku, Spider-Man, Rhodey, Starlord, and Drax doing it instead? I highly doubt if this same moment happened and we got a collection of the characters named above anyone would say a word about it. Which speaks to the larger conversation about how sexism has been hammered into the audience to the point where audiences react to something like this in a sexist fashion. When it is a sausage fest, no one complains. That's wrong.

Im waiting for the "Infinity Saga" boxset.Still waiting for that Phase 3 boxset.
Hemsworth said multiple times he ll keep doing Thor for as long as they want him.On the Campea show today they brought up an article that states that Hemsworth re upped his deal back in 2017 for phase 4.
