The Dark Knight Rises OFFICIAL: Batman in the Burgh - - Part 11

After the ******ed wall spin in TDK, it's not out of the question :o

Only nerds beg and beg for fantastical and "cool" moments in these movies, and when they get them, they call them "******ed."

Gotta love it. :awesome:

I've never advocated for any Schumacher-esque maneuvers in these films, they belong in their own realm far, far away from Nolan's.

all i know is, that particular moment got some big cheers from the audience.

And it was badass.

If you really think that the Batpod wall turn is anything "schumacher-esque" I don't know what to tell you.

I absolutely think it is. It negates multiple laws of physics making it fantastical, and thus pulls the audience (maybe just me :o) out of the "realism" of Nolan's world.

It is by far my least favorite moment in the film and I'm honestly amazed more people don't have a problem with it.

So does about everything else Batman does. Nolan's films are not realistic, man.

I'm with Yurka. The Batpod spin is quite silly in the context of the movie. As far as "cool" moments in the movie and even from the Batpod, I think both the emergence from the Tumbler and the ride through the mall is cooler, better done and better shot.

There's far more fantastical things going in this film breaking the laws of physics dude. :funny:

I've always thought it was badass, so did the other 100 people in theater when I saw it the first time.

Saw it with a packed theater opening night in Nashville.

Theater was dead quiet during the Batpod/18Wheeler chase, dead quiet during the flip, and once Batman turned on the wall, dozens upon dozens of "Woo!!"'s and clapping erupted.

I think I might have even heard a "**** yes!" somewhere near me.

It was my Mother's favorite part besides Joker's video. "LOOK AT ME!"

My theatre got cheers during the wall spin too. Was pretty awesome.

I had similar reactions at the Navy Pier IMAX premiere in Chicago :woot:

GA cheering at batpod spin and not truck flip, says more about them than the actual cool-factor of each shot.

The truck flip was already spoiled in the trailers while the wall flip was not.

Just on that same scene, there's an 18 wheeler flipping on it's nose by 2 wires, when in reality the front bump would've come right off at best. :funny:

So you don't believe Nolan's Batman is grounded in a realistic world?
No. It's grounded in a world that is comparatively close to ours (moreso than the previous films and many comics), but is still not ours. Most of the things in these movies simply could not happen in the real world, they're presented in such a way that within the world created, heavily grounded in its own internal set of logic and rules, they feel believable. It's the illusion of realism, if anything.

Definitely, my crowd almost stood up like we were in a football game.
