Haha I can see myself in one of Yurka's photos from the shoot Saturday.

It is VERY interesting that you say that sir. Very interesting indeed.

Why? Because bat-fans who were present have varying opinions of what he sounded like? I don't mean to assume, but it appears you might be trying to prove something by pointing this out.. so felt the need to comment.

It is welcome to see varied opinions of the voice from those who were actually there, although most that have come in so far have had overall positive or hopeful things to say - and have pointed out details which we certainly can't hear in the audio.
That being said, good or bad - it is essential to pay attention to what those who were present can offer, and moreso the details given so we can draw our own conclusions.

What Steyin points out about the amount of dialogue is important, as I imagine that you can't get the best idea of what the voice sounds like with just a few short lines. Need to allow the full range of it to come out.
I'm really curious to hear more.

The more I listen to the Bane audio the more intrigued I become. It's a completely unexpected voice, but it's also an interesting one. It has me thinking about the circumstances surrounding it and how his voice got to that point. Alone it could be a putoff, but in context it likely says something about his character.

I dont care what Batman072 likes Bane's voice or not; his behavior is getting under my skin. it's almost like a parody.

Did anyone provide a transcript of what Bane says? I remember it almost word for word.

I will say though, Hardy is an awesome guy. Doing the raffle partially with Bane's voice was funny, his attitude was great with the crowd.

**Edit: Nevermind, I see the audio clip on YT has it.

I have a strong feeling that the voice everyone heard was a red herring. They will probably do Banes voice completely by overdubbing. I cant see him sounding that terrible AND sounding like a guy in a cheap mask.

They've already confirmed in an interview that most of (if not all) Hardy's lines will be re-dubbed in post. But it would probably be best to keep the Bane voice convos to the Bane thread, just so it doesn't overwhelm all the other threads. Even though it kind of already has:oldrazz:

I just got back from the 7 hour drive from Pitts (went to the Pirates game today). I'm sure its been discussed to hell and back, but Bane's voice is very awkward, close to terrible IMO. He sounds like an old Irish/English man crossed with Darth Vader's breathing. Nothing at all of what I was expecting or hoping for. Then again, it was only 4 lines of dialogue, so perhaps it sounds better with more.
Thanks for your input. From what I've heard, I have to agree with you......

It was the last magazine interview that Hardy did. Someone posted scans of it on here. The one where he was going on about how when Nolan asked him if he wanted to be in his movie and if he'd be okay with wearing a mask he was like "You want me to follow you around the world and film a Batman movie, and the only drawback is wearing a mask. Let me get back to you...No, F**k yes I'm in!" or something like that. In the article they talk about how you can barely hear what Hardy says while he's filming, and how he'd have to like give Bale a thumbs up or wink when he was done with his lines, and they mention that the majority of his audio would be done in post.

Edit: It was for Total Film. The have the scans of the full article in one of the Bane threads (don't know if it's the current one). You have to read the article to catch the spot about it. Chris's website has some snippets from it, and it mentions Hardy talking about how you can't hear what he's saying, but it doesn't have the direct quote of them mentioning the majority of his lines would be dubbed in post production. The writer puts that in right after that blurb.

No, he never said it would be done in post. What he said, was that Bale couldn't hear him, cause he was wearing the Bat-cowl, and Bale couldn't see Hardy's mouth in the mask, so they had to do some signs. It never said that there would be overdubs in post production, unless I mis-read, and someone wants to prove me otherwise.......

It's in the full article. Right after the blurb where he talks about how Bale couldn't hear him, the writer puts in that most of his lines will be dubbed in post. I read the full thing when someone on here posted scans of the entire article.

oh my gahhd some of these complaints are hilarious. It's like all of a sudden everybody is The Comic Book Guy. Do not waant!

Oh, okay. Thanks.

I read the other parts, but I didn't hear about the post production bit.

I still can't find it. I've been to so may links, and I haven't seen him say anything about post production.

Nowhere in that article does it mention doing post on Bane's voice. Also, what Hardy is talking about is Bale not being able to hear or read Hardy's lips, while in the Bat costume. When you're in the bat costume you can barely hear anything; Christian has to read the actors' lips in order to react; he can't do that with Bane because his mouth is covered. Nowhere, and I repeat nowhere in the article does it mention post voice work.

I've been trying to find the scans, but I can't find which old Bane thread they were in:csad:

But I'm positive I read that in there. Someone posted about five scans, that had every picture and the entire article printed from the magazine. Not just a few quotes from it (which is why you can't see what I'm talking about brainsmasher). If anyone has the scans and they would like to post them again it would be appreciated, or has Total Film and feels like scanning it.

But unless I'm completely losing my mind, I'm sure there was a direct line in there stating that the majority of Hardy's lines would be done in post production. I remember thinking about that, because I remember when Ledger died a big concern was if Nolan would have to try and get some voice actors in because everyone was wondering if the audio from the set shots would be good enough.

And really, you'd have to redo his audio. If Bale can't hear what he's saying and he's standing next to him, there's no way in heck a boom mic is going to get good sound out of it.

Ah yes, was just going to say that as suggested you could have seen it in the scans - which would show more than can be seen at any of the links out there going into the article.

And these scans were taken form what magazine? I'm sure you can find them online by now?......

the whole casting of this movie in my opinion is a joke. I will reserve some feelings until the film comes out as I may end up liking the casting

This potato tastes awful but I might like this potato.
