Cable #1 will arrive in stores on March 5 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Duane Swierczynski, with art and cover by Ariel Olivetti and a variant cover by Rob Liefeld.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"'Arms,' part 1. 'Messiah CompleX' changed the X-Men forever. But no one's world has been rocked as hard as Cable, the time-traveling mutant from the future. He's been charged with the one mission that could save all of mutantkind -- or, if he fails, damn it to extinction. And hot on his trail is a relentless enemy who won't stop until blood is spilled. No matter where...or when...Cable runs. "

Cable #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99

.....why would Cable run from Bishop though? yeah...Bishop has bigger guns...but Cable has telepathy AND telekinesis no? Bishop shoots plasma only after taking energy damage....I have actually thought of ways to tweak bishop's powers to allow him to be mega-powerful...oh well...until my time comes to write it...and it WILL come...

Nope. He lost those abilities. Dunno what he has now. During Cable & Deadpool he replaced those abilities by technological means, but with his Island going down I think that put an end to that.

Black Box needs to get his ass established elsewhere so Cable can have his powers back lol

Er... that could be a bit difficult for him. His character doesn't posses the Pheonix force... or anything else that can undo what Sabretooth did to him. "I'm sorry, Jim. He's dead".

Though Cable may have a slight healing factor due to melding with Deadpool way back at the start of C&DP.

I thought the Hecta-alien thingie gave him back his mutant powers

Spec's right. The powers lingered briefly, but otherwise vanished quickly and without a trace.

To address Outcry, before he asks the question (and hopefully he'll read this first): When Cable/Deadpool started, Cable's powers were peaking to all-time highs. Think of Nate Grey. Cable's TO virus had been eradicated, and while he retained the arm (since the virus had ravaged it and turned it cybernetic), the virus itself was gone, and all the power he had always used to keep it in check was free to use. Eventually he uses this to act the part of a messiah (The Burnt Offering arc), which of course rallies most of the world against him, and after fighting off the Surfer he teleports with Deadpool and has Deadpool basically lobotomize him. Eventually Cable gets restored (the fun House of M tie-in issues), but has to burn his powers out before he burns himself out. This leads to him using technology to replace them - a Grav Shield to replace TK and the Infonet to replace his TP - until Providence goes kablooey. The alien thingy briefly restored them, but it's gone, as above.

So the Cable we saw in Messiah Complex, and will be seeing in Cable (as far as I can tell), was/is powerless. Pure soldier.

ahh...so he is kinda..well...dull now...He was barely interesting(to me) with his powers...and Im talking pre-techno-organic-free Cable...it was cool to see him use his powers on himself if only to stay alive....but him being without powers is lame.

Not really. While Cable/Deadpool went in an oddly questionable direction as it stretched on, it was always kind of interesting what Cable was doing - essentially, trying to keep up the messiah game and rewrite history even after losing his powers.

Seriously, read "The Burnt Offering." If you can read that and not like Cable at the end, well, I won't love you anymore.

ok..I will read it..and just for you..me luvs your luvin

It's a shame they didn't stick with the original story title for that arc. "The passion fo the Cable".

It's not, really. I like Nicieza, but that wasn't one of his better plays, and I'm glad he didn't try to fight for it. "The Burnt Offering" is a much, much better title, honestly. And it doesn't come off as lame and trying to cash in on a religious movie.

whats, x-strike and one know or can give me a link about it?

Finally Cable has his own solo again and I loved it! Great first issue. The art was unique and top notch and the writing was good. Im really going to dig this series. The violence shocked me though and Im not used to seeing that in my comics but it seems to be a trend with the X-books with Wolverine and X-force heading in this direction.

WTF happened to Bishop's arm. He couldnt at least get one that was in right proportions? His new arm just looks odd. lol..loved seeing the flashback of Predator taking a bite out of his old one. It should have eaten his head

Bishops arm definitely has a purpose regarding size. Theres no way the artist drew Cables arm normally and Bishops arm gigantic.

i just want him to be a skrull...cuz well...he and cable should be partners(in every sense of the term) not enemies
