Comics Official CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI:13 Discussion Thread

I cringe at the time they spent together in teh X-men. Dazzler before was a strong character, with a strong personality, courage, a sense of independence, etc... She was all about Longshot and became a self absorbed bitter jealous twit. She was so concerned with her looks and picking fights with Rogue over Longshot and was so possessive and annoying. I thought they were horrible paired together. Doesnt help that I hate Longshot and think he's one character that should have never escaped the 80s

i Love Longshot....and what happened is, well, what happens when two people come together....jealousy and fights and insecurity happen...even the strongest personality falls....Longshot is and was awesome..his look, his abilities, his backstory...i mean damn. dude is awesome.....i always wondered what kinda powers a baby between Longshot and Domino would have.

but Dazzler did a complete 180 from where she left off in her series. It was just too much and Claremont did not do her character justice

Im going to have to disagree with you on Longshot. He's one of the worst X-men ever for me. Probably in my top 5 of those who should never return to an active lineup. The only Longshot I ever loved was the Ultimate version. BEST Ult. character in the Ult-X-menverse. Thank god he was nothing like his lackluster 616 counterpart

So do you prefer the current Dazzler then because i can't stand her?
If you give 616 Longshot to a better writer then he can become great,he just has to lose the mullet, thats why i would bring him over to Excalibur and give him to Cornell.

So who is the Girl at the end on the left? I have a coloured version of this picture and she has blonde hair.

The alternate version of Kitty Pryde who showed up in Exlies and issue or two ago.

ugh...seriously?!?! damn..i knew there was a reason i was staying away from this..keep Blink away from the shadowpussy please.

I don't like Dazzler making Swords out of light, thats Pyslockes Schtick!!:csad:

So Dazzler can make light sabers now....and Claremont has officially ruined Exiles..first Psylocke...now Kitty Pryde....with those two...there is now room for anyone else, namely Blink

He must sit there ******* over these girls in these teams, why isnt Storm in one of these books, thats the biggest shock!! No the biggest shock is that CC as never pitched the idea of having an all Female team featuring Storm,Shadowcat,Dazzler and Psylocke...

New Excalibur #23 will arrive in stores on Sept. 6 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Chris Claremont, with art by Jeremy Haun and a cover by Billy Tan.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"'Battle for Eternity.' Everything is at stake. The country. The world. The universe. The multi-verse. Captain Britain and the remains of New Excalibur are alone to stop Albion and his forces. But if this cover says anything about our heroes' chances, all of reality is in big trouble."

New Excalibur #23 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99

the art is actually pretty damn good...and you know..i had hopes for Nocturne in the 616...but claremont and i believe...austen(who wrote her before claremont did?) have dashed them on jagged rocks

I thought this was an improvement on previous issues.

Not that impressed by the art - nothing notable about it, and there's nothing hyper realistic, or superheroey about the figures. They're neither well defined spandex wearers, nor massively detailed but realistically proportioned.

The story of course - jeez louise man... the last three issues have just been one overstretched yawnfest with no direction I'm afraid. There is only so far being a legend can carry you in this age of writing style. Stan Lee doesnt write for todays artist or audiences, and neither does Claremont. The verbose conversing between Angel and Jean, the unnecessary description of Juggernaut's situation... its almost a distrust of the artist's ability to convey the plot given them.

So many nowhere plot threads, so much that makes no sense, is impossible to follow, or just doesnt need to be there. The whole Britannia/Sage ID crisis thing - whered it come from and where is it going and what importance does it have. Are all these Shadow Captains just Caps from other worlds whop chose the sword? Can't imagine Merlyn or Roma let every pratt who made the wrong choice keep their power. Why is Brian so shocked at the ID of Albion? Half the bleedin' Cap's he's met have been alternate Brian Braddocks.

I do agree about the Albion ID shock, something i guessed when he made his first appearance.
