Dark of the Moon OFFICIAL Dark of the Moon REVIEW THREAD - Part 1

This movie is certainly not as awful as the 2nd but merely just okay. The first half of this movie was terrible humor with Malkovich's and Jeong's characters. Also, I couldn't stop laughing at all of Bay's injections of his own political agenda.

This is how lame Michael Bay really is .....

It's not surprising, many film makers use stock footage in their movies. I'm pretty sure its happened many times. At least he used one from his own movie.

I remember his helecopter flying through miami at night in badboys was re-used on a movie once. Also the osprey helicopters taking off and flying in this one was re-used from the first movie i think.

Maybe that was just an homage to a previous film he did like the Armageddon reference in TF1 or the Bad Boys 2 poster in TF2?......On second thought, nah. He's just cheap. :o

I thought of Armageddon in this movie when Sam and Carly are reunited near the end. It was shot in almost the exact same way.

is this stock footage?i thought that artbeats has stockfootage.

the only way Bay can do this is becaus he is always doing the same type of car action and because he is using always similar locations.some are saying that this is done to keep the budget down . but how is this my problem? i am paying a ticket. i am paying money.

Well from an article I read they do this type of stuff to save money because they need a certain shot. I think the articles also said Bay did this in the first transformers movie when he reused a scene of an aircraft carrier. Here's a link. http://www.slashfilm.com/transformers-3-action-sequence-recycled-the-island/

I really don't care since its basically a few seconds of the movie and I wouldn't have noticed if its not pointed out.

That episode of Star Trek the microbots were watching, you won't believe it! Stock footage!

Now when people complain to me about Bayformers it sounds like a "Nice guy" trying to convince his female crush she shouldn't be with her "jerk" boyfriend: "Hey, did you know he uses STOCK FOOTAGE! And he doesn't even give Ironhide dying the appropriate emotional impact! An my Optimus would never say "my bad"! How can you let someone treat you like that!! I know you say he's exciting and "fun" but he doesn't treat you right. Come be with me my love, I'll give you all the things you need like characterization and storylines and emotional crescendos and all that stuff".

I don't really get what your saying. Movies can be exciting and fun with good characterizations, storylines, and emotional crescendos. They can all exist in the same movie, they are not mutually exclusive.

it was easier because they used teh same movement.
but from what i understand they needed to draw everything by hand from beginning to end. so in a way its not the same IMO.

But my point is still that Bay isn't doing something that is unheard of this has always existed in some form or another.

Stock footage and the lack of a reaction at Ironhide's death were the least of this movie's problems anyway.
