First Avenger OFFICIAL: Hugo Weaving is Red Skull - Part 6/6/44

I find I normally tend to hate anything "promo related". I find that most of this kind of film's promo imagery looks cheap and dated. While I can't judge Red Skull until I see the character in action... the character in the promo image looks like crap. Almost has that cheap, Halloween costume-look to it. Lame. :csad:

Seems like another case of bad posters great film just like X-Men First Class. Why the need for individual character posters anyway? Is anyone other than a Nazi going to put up the Red Skull in their basement? And Peggy Carter is cute but they didn't give Pepper Potts a poster or Betty Ross. I don't get the point of these at all.

It would be a great pic if Skull wasnt cupping his crotch in his hands. :D

''You wanna piece of this???''

I just came from a site where they're saying..."it looks like Red Skull is using the Hydra DeathUrinal"

When I look at that picture real hard I hear this:

Argghhhhhh urrghhhhh ARRRGHH!

That looks amazing Hugo Weaving great choice the transition from comic book pages to screen looks perfect.

Hugo has that great Red Skull attitude and just looks perfect as him.

I love that Marvel wasn't afraid to go balls out and make Red Skull as comic accurate as possible. My favorite features of the make-up are the nose and that great chin!

Skeletor always makes me think is face is covered with icing.

Holy Random Comparison, Hunter. lol

Skeletor has wrinkles on his face, Skull is sleek and looks more like a skull lol.

I look at it this way Thor and Cap have been around ALOT longer than He-Man. If anything Marvel and Timely inspired others, not to mention MARVEL's Doc Doom the inspiration for Darth Vader.

Has it been confirmed how Red Skull became deformed?

My favorite marvel villain, (namesake for my new membership here) seems to have been translated perfectly to the screen. I can't wait to see him in action. Here's what we know so far that I have gathered about Red Skull and his role in the film(and believe me, I have followed every tidbit of information so far):

1. Schmidt discovers something early in the film, before Evans is even transformed into Captain America, presumably in the arctic circle. I think this might be the cosmic cube.
2. In later scenes of the film, Schmidt misuses the cosmic cube or something like that which disfigures his face.
3. At some point in the movie, Red Skull is affected by the Super soldier serum much like cap himself, this is what allows him to contend with cap "we are alike" physically in 2 conflicts in the film.
4. In his early appearances as schmidt, Red Skull wears the Hydra science uniform. In the later scenes and his fight scenes it has been confirmed that he wears the black trenchcoat. In the beginning of the film it is presumed that he wears a hat since one early leaked screen shot had him with the full SS get up.
5. Sadly I think Schmidt dies in the end of the film in the final battle aboard the airship with Captain America. This has been hinted at in some interviews and I can only imagine in a cliche comic book way that ANY fight between a main hero and villain aboard an airship ends inevitably in the villains demise.
6. While the action figure by hasbro has red skull with red hands, it is unknown if his actual hands or parts of his body other than his head are disfigured in the film. The action figure also incorrectly has a nose.
