Did he actually have that happen? I thought it was always a mask. I had previously always assumed it was not a mask mind you.

It did: He wore a mask until his original body finally died (around 1981), but Zola transferred his mind into a cloned body of Cap (so he now had all of Caps abilities as well). He liked having Steve's face so he stopped wearing a mask, but it was later disfigured to look like his former mask when he inhaled some of his own 'Red Dust' (it was presumed having Steve's SS serum in that body was what allowed him to survive the dust and caused that reaction to his face)

Main difference between the mask/disfigured looks was the latter was more like an actual skull, with bared teeth and so on.

I wonder if they'll use any of that in this or future films, or whether they choose to "ground" it in reality (which is weird to say given everything else that happens).

I guess they'd have to acknowledge something like that if he's to be in future stories though. I wouldn't want to see an 80 year old Red Skull hobbling around on a zimmer frame.

Yup - what was that? Cap #350?

Awesome issue; not only did it have all what you describe but it also had the long awaited John Walker Cap vs. Steve Rogers' The Captain, rendered amazingly by Kieron Dwyer, one of the most underated Cap artists of modern times imo.

The Skulls original body dying was #300, and his return in the cloned body (with the Walker/Cap showdown, the disfigurement, and the reveal of how the Skull got the new body) was #350.

He was only shown in that body undisfigured for that issue only come to think of it. Before that he was only shown in shadows pulling the strings behind Cap's resignation.

Yeah, he was the one who also kept giving Walker chance after chance, knowing that it was tarnishing the costume more and more, what with Walker's very public Watchdogs massacre and the Mutant Liberation Front mauling.

Damn, they were some good reads. I know I'm in the minority here but I actually thought Walker made for a very interesting Cap.

Yeah, that was brutal.

If memory serves, it was basically just an evil Skull/Rogers in y-fronts slaughtering a bunch of guys in Cap costumes - the part where he killed the guy with a replica of the shield was sick.

Hey Guys. Theres something which bothers me, a thought which popped out in my mind after a lil chat about the Cap movie I had with a pal of mine few days ago.

He hinted that he believes that THE RED SKULL might actually be a POKEMON !!

That s a megaton, isn t it?? Well, of course I m not sure if it s true so I wanted to ask the experts arround here for more information bout this hot topic.

My friend also mentoins that he believes that the Red Skull is part of the SINNOH Pokedex, and supposed to be able to capture after you got Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

So, Could it be??

I m really looking forward to the Cap-Flick, last time a felt these kind of a hype for a Movie was waaaay back in summer 2002 when Spider-Man first came out. And i wasen t disappointed. Hopefully history repeats xP

I also really want to see actually Nazis REALLY bad in this film, not only under the HYDRA brand. However, some sites discribed the Captain America Comic Con Footage they saw, and it says that in one scene where Johann Schmidt is in a Castle in Norway he weares an SS Uniform. Maybe with a swastika? I Hope so.

Nazis are an important part of the Character of Captain America, the perfect opposite to the patriotic hero of the US which stands for Hope and a bright future.

Even if not all Nazis really wanted to do what they did (the system basically forced them) they will always stand as the perfect example of pure evil, even in entertainment media.

So why the heck censor it? It s history. They re the perfect villains, and it would be sooo stupid having a Captain America film with that Patriotic Hero who punched Hitler and EVEN HAVE IT TAKE PLACE IN WWII and then not having nazis. That would be ridicoules.

I don t really now WHY I wanna see the Nazis so bad, maybe it s because I m german, and because I hope that there might be scenes in the film taking place in germany...Whatever.

And did you here that Weaving said that he wants to give the RED SKULL an true German accent???

Weaving is always awesome when it comes to....just talking (thinks of V).

And then a german accent..DAMN good stuff. You know, he said he wants an accent based on the way WERNER HERZOG and KLAUS MARIA BRANDAUER talk. As an german I ve seen many footage and interviews featuring them.

Both of em, German film legends. The way they talk seems to be perfect for an foreign actor to base an accent on them.

In February this year I had the honor to meet not only Leonardo DiCaprio for an signature, I even met Werner Herzog and he talked with me about his film (one of my favourites) Fitzcarraldo for about 2 minutes . It was at the Berlinale in Berlin. He s such an eloquent person. I hope Weaving will do a great job with that German accent thing.

I thought Quark came up with some good points. As an Australian, I always think it's interesting to hear different points of view on Captain America than American ones all the time.

I think you and I agree on what sort of film Captain America should be like Quark. Making that comment about Superferret's religious status is not cool though.
