Official JLA discussion thread - Part 1

Finally read the JLA issue 1. Story-wise,it's nothing really special, but it's not too bad.

I'll be getting issue 2 for sure.

My main complaint...the costumes! Jesus, what's the point of drawing so many seams on Batman's costume? All of them seems pointless. I can only imagine the nightmare for other artists having to check and double check to see if they got all the seams.

I'm a huge Jim Lee fan, but when it comes to designing costumes, he's almost as bad as Alex Ross. The only costumes designs Lee has done that was actually good was when he was drawing Wildcats.

Since superman isn't married AGAIN, will ther be some hotness between him and diana FINALLY??

I don't like what DC is doing. but if they're gonna do it, MAKE IT INTERESTING THIS TIME!
Bleeding Cool stated a while back when they first broke the news about Superman and Lois that he would be dating Wonder Woman while Lois dated someone else. To be honest I would not mind it as long as it is written well.

I'd be more interested to see Diana and Batman rather than Superman. I always liked that "relationship" on the JLU cartoon.

Supes and Wondy together isnt as appealing as Bats and Wondy.

Really

I liked a couple of episodes with those two but I never really shipped them ever

Actually now that I think about it i dont think I've ever shipped Wonder Woman with any guys

For me its always been either Io Black Canary or Artemis that I'd like her to end up with

cuz Lana's from Kansas........and Lois is not........:ninja:

Kansas getting some love

Clark will probably end up with Lois in the end though. And Lana will have to settle for Pete Ross again :csad:

I think the Bruce and Diana is more interesting than any other Justice Leaguer they try to pair her up with. With Aquaman, its like "Hey, they're both royalty, they belong together!" or with Superman its "They're basically the male and female equivalent of each other...They belong together!"

With Batman, its not a perfect match, though they do have their similarities. I dont think they should have a full blown relationship, but I prefer that to anything else.

Really, what they should do is make Steve Trevor young an actually badass.

I always saw Diana and Artemis as more like sisters, if anything, and I havent seen enough Canary and WW to comment on that potential pairing. I stopped reading Simones run before BC guest starred

Barry and Zatanna would be a humorous couple.

I dont know

I've heard that Barry does everything fast

I've always wanted them to get together. I think it would be great if Wonder Woman finally had a girlfriend confirming that she's bisexual which is already really obvious

Did you not dig Simone's Wonder Woman stories then Batman. I thought they were fairly neat apart from that blonde haired idiot who was her love interest

Etta Candy and talking gorillas. Good times :awesome:

Honestly, I always felt a Supes/Wondy relationship forced, even in Kingdom Come. I think the best example of why it wouldn't work is explored thoroughly in the first volume of Astro City. Even if the characters there are only based on the Supes/WW archetype, Busiek still does an amazing job of showing what problems the two would have if ever romantically involved.

Yep I've always thought they were better as friends. I cant really recall any story where they got together that I liked

I've always preferred Clark with Lois really

If it's not Steve Trevor don't bother giving Diana a love interest. He's the only one that ever made sense. Her "Lois" surrogate.

Paul Cornell is saying that J'onn is a part of the Justice League. Comics Beat, which has read Stormwatch #1 says that the issue flat out says that J'onn is a member of the League. My annoyances of no J'onn in the League are starting to dissipate.

I really hope that Stormwatch gets a better artist eventually. Sepulveda isn't doing it for me.

Fun on a bun I'm glad to hear J'onn will be on the league as well as being part of Stormwatch

JLI 1, I wasn't going to buy it until next month. I don't know WHY I bought it but I'm glad I did.

don't see the appeal of the superman/wonder woman match up. its so obvious and boring. i think JLU showed that there is a lot more, and better storys in the batman/ww pairing

though that does nothing but piss off the bruce/selina fans
