Not great but not horrible.......Superman still reigns as suckiest redesign (actually him and Martian Manhunter are the only redesigns I do hate so far). Cyborg is like Ironman you expect his look to continually be modified.

They won't. I was hoping Final Crisis was taking the Jack Kirby Old Yeller behind the shed but looks like I was wrong.

Typical Jim Lee blandness and more of DC's fixing what wasn't broken.

Yeah but that costume is the exact opposite of streamlining. Darkseid was possibly Kirby most simplified design and the minimalism worked well with the character.

I'm a HUGE Lee fan as most you know and I think that is a stinky design. I hope it looks better in different panels but as introductory images go that one is not the most flattering. At least it doesn't have those pesky seams you all seem to hate.

Jim Lee is a great artist but a horrible designer. His designs for Wonder Woman, Superman, Darkseid, Batman, the Flash, etc. are rather underwhelming at best. The only reason why some of them work is because other artists like Greg Capullo, Francis Manapul, and Cliff Chang somehow made them work.

Although his designs aren't as bad as Cully Hammer's. Those redesigns are just god awful.

I'd agree he works a lot better with established designs and characters. Have you seen his interpretation of the Dark Knight Costume? He makes it work in the comics! I also would have to say that your right on with Manapul(best artist in the Biz right now) he made that Flash costume work like a Boss in the new Flash comic. What did Hammer redesign?

Out of everyone in DC I think Darksied who the only one who doesnt really or shouldnt have armor. At least that boring armor.

I don't think it's that bad, really. The whole cracking design seems weird, but I guess they're going for a 'he's so powerful, even his armor can't contain him' kind of thing. Which is a bit dumb, admittedly, but this doesn't seem too bad to me at all.
