Official Legion of Super-Heroes Thread

I suspect - this is entirely speculation; I have no inside knowledge of any kind - that the guy Dream Girl saw but couldn't identify will turn out to be Mon-El.

How many of you remember Lightning Lad had a robot arm for awhile? Element lad's candy cane-colored costume? Polar Boy (DC's version of Iceman). Damn, I am old.

I remember all those things. The first issue of Legion I read was the one where Blok became a member. Remember when Timber Wolf had that weird dark wolfy-face? When Dawnstar and Wildfire were the new kids on the block? When Jacques Foccart first became Invisible Kid? Good times.

And I found myself oddly attracted to "Dream Girl" which is... odd. I'm not one of those "damn, she's a hot cartoon!" sicko's... you know who you are.

no "oddness" about it...she is hot

You should see Adam Hughes cover of Legion #35 which Gail Simone wrote right before this relaunch... it's teh hawt :)

I'd post it if I could find it :(

Bah how long with this last anyway?

If you're a legion fan you better get used to the rug being pulled out from under you:o

That's fine. I don't have any particularly strong feelings about the Legion, so I'd probably enjoy seeing new concepts for them pop up from time to time. Plus, this concept is really, really good.

Does anybody know of a good Legion-related website/fansite/blog/whatever that actually, you know, stays up to date? All the ones I can find are months or even years behind the times.

If there isn't one I'm gonna start my own.

New issue today and the only comic I read on my lunch break today.

Main story is about Triplicate Girl. She goes out on dates with Sun Boy, Ultra Lad, and Element Lad all at the same time with funny results. But the real story is that Cosmic Boy sent her on the dates to determine how the other Legionaires feel about the team and to gauge their loyalty because he thinks Braniac is going to lead an internal coup.

Great stuff. This comic hasn't disappointed yet.

I'm about to go buy it. I have one question. Has Saturn Girl finally showed up? She better have.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Nope. But I'm sure she will eventually.

My thing is wasn't Mon-El like related to Superman in some way? I remember that he was or that he thought he was and thats how he got his name.

he thought he was but he was from daxam a world with an environment and red sun simular to krypton thats why he had powers simular to the silver age superboy

Thanks I thought it was something like that.

Yeah, I love the whole mutiny angle Waid's throwing into the mix. I wonder how it will play out, especially considering that there's a big intergalactic war that is supposed to happen sometime in the near future.
The whole re-imagining of Triplicate Girl's origin was decent. Personally, I like her origin as a sort of freak and outcast amongst her people what with her dupes not feeling the same or what not. Course, in that origin she was taken in by Mr. Brande, but, since there's aparently no Brande in this relaunch, I guess it had to be redone. Still, it was cool to see that she repopulated Cargg the way she did. :D
Though with her being the sole population one has to wonder how they will keep the Cargite race going?

And I agree, this comic has been great so far. I give it a 9 out of 10 on the Johnny Scale™.

This is my first D.C. Comic that i'ave ever attempted to coolect. I've only read one other D.C. TPB "JLA: The Tower of Babel."

I love this series. It's so smart and funny, it was exactly what i needed to break my way into the man o steal and the man o preptime.

But we'll see, think i gotta find it. Every One says that it's the greatest grp book around so . . . I haven't picked up the flash series yet cause I feel like i gotta get used to the art first. I never know where to start with a long running series either. . . That's why i love the Ultimates line and the Avengers. They are all soo new that i don't feel like i'm missing out on any history or things like that.

I'll agree with that: JSA is indeed the greatest team book around. The Legion looks like it could be a contender after a bit longer, although they're more of an organization than a team now.

Also, I got the first issue of the new Legion signed by Mark Waid. I was happy n' stuff. :)
