Official Man of Steel Trailer(s) Thread - Part 6

the trailer isnt made by snyder.. there are houses that do that.. he maybe has some input but mostly thats all marketing...

Where did i imply anything remotely like that ?

The difficult thing with any Zack Snyder trailer is that it's not the best gauge of the quality of the film, as by now it is clear that Snyder makes AMAZING trailers, but the films themselves don't really match up to them.

I definitely agree with that.

The thing that gives me hope is seeing how promising the trailers look in conjunction with all the through the roof positive buzz out there about the film itself from the WB screenings.

And I also really feel like Snyder is stepping up his game here.

Considering that Snyder is on a leash for this film (not literally) I think those who didn't like Snyder's previous films won't need to worry TOO much about things like that.

Plus, it looks noticeably different from his other films. Bigger scope, less stylized, A-list cast.

This movie is going to be better than Iron Man 3 of that I really have no doubts.

Well, let's not let conjecture interfere with reality. Whatever happens, happens.

The better response is this movie will probably make more money then Iron Man 3

Better is way to subjective

Will MoS be better than Fast & the Furious 6? Star Trek? Hangover 3? Pacific Rim?

I think what we really need is EVEN MORE irrelevant comparisons.

How is Man of Steel vs Iron Man not. Good comparison?

this movie will be awesome.

so will Iron man.

comparing movies is stupid.

I'm going to go enjoy them both.

When I think of how a non-Superman fan might view the trailer, I'd say it really makes you want to see more. I'm trying to see this in an unbiased way. And that raises the potential for this movie imo.

So wait people can't compare movies now because other people get their feelings hurt? I mean sure some fools go beyond healthy comparison and just start attacking peoples preferences, but people who do it right shouldn't have to be penalized for that.

Anyway I have hopes and fears for both movies.

It's true. I've never liked the character, but I'm excited for this.

Well, I was blown away by the trailer, until I saw Snyder's name attached. I just cannot fathom how trailers like this can be put together only to be in for a massive let down. Albeit Sucker Punch looked terrible, and 300 was good for what it was. I guess I am just using Watchmen as the barometer here.

I have to say this was the first great trailer for this film. It makes it look like more of an action piece than a booding psycho-drama. I was not a big fan of the designs for Jor-El and Krypton but now seeing it in context, I understand what they were going for.

The only thing I didn't like was Zod. Perhaps they were going for the Terrance Stamp overacting approach again, but I didn't care for it. What does have me glued is Amy Adams, and if they can get the Lois/Superman relationship to work, this film will be successful. At the end of the day that's the center of the Superman story.

Michael Shannon is just that good though. He overacts so much that you really believe that's him in real life. Look at his character in that bike riding movie with JGL. I really think that was him in real life and that's what he makes you believe. Joaquin Phoenix is another actor like that. Truth is, they are probably nut jobs in reality.

Just got in from work and my gf wants to watch it, I put it on my PS3 last night so gonna watch it on the big TV with the surround sound for the first time

To illustrate how good the trailer is: it makes me want to see an Adventures of Jor-El prequel. :woot:

Have to admit: Man of Steel trailer works better and better.

I like how it feels more like a sci-fi film than a comicbook film. I think that's the trick that'll raise it above the rest.
