Official Man of Steel Trailer(s) Thread - Part 6

I'm just glad that the trailer had a really uplifting tone. I feel like after the past decade of terrorism, war, recession, and government deadlock, I feel like Superman's optimism will strike a chord with people. I hate to sound like Devin Faraci (when he criticized the Nolan Batfilms), but I feel like people might be getting a little tired of dark and gritty. Times of crisis always seem to encourage the consumption of escapist fantasy. People want to forget about real life for a little while. Superman and Batman were created during the Great Depression after all. If the marketing for this movie continues to solid, I feel like Man of Steel could be coming at just the right moment to be a massive hit.

This. I will stand by that same belief that the world needs Superman and now is the perfect time for a comeback. Though its a bit cliche/cheesy to say it its true. There's pretty much a Superhero movie every year but not one that truly represents hope. The Dark Knight nailed that theme in the ground perfectly and ran with it but in a dark sense. I think MoS will reembody that same type of Hope but in a lighter sense.

That's what has always made Superman/Batman so unique and different from one another. I expect MoS/Superman to be gritty but not grounded like Batman was in TDK trilogy or Superman in SR if that makes any sense. This Superman looks like he can do anything, and the world ain't seen nothin' yet.

P.S. might I add today is my birthday and the countdown yesterday, following that and then the trailer being released, I was pretty elated. That was one hell of a birthday present :woot: thanks to Zack Snyder and company.

Do you have some sort of insider knowledge? would you care to share?

Critics will love it, kids will love it, and it will be the best Superhero movie of all-time. Once MoS grosses $250 million in it's opening weekend, WB will already be working on a JL film. Mark it down! :woot:

So that's a no then

You remember when 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, and 2012 all had the best superhero movie of all time?

I dont really want to explore these forums for fear of spoilers. But what was that feedback noise at the end of the new trailer?

With a clearer head, I can now pinpoint the not-as-good stuff:
- Lois's "He never quite fit in" feels crammed in and awkward as hell. I can just picture Amy Adams reading that from a paper in a sound booth.

- The action bits... it's surprising that even with the 3rd trailer they're still holding back on the action. The stuff they showed is so choppy and out of context that I couldn't even understand what I was watching without having to pause.

- They're playing with the colors of this thing like it's nobody's business. The previous trailer showed off a very nice, vivid palette full of turquoises, orange sunsets, etc. Just compare the shot of Superman vs Zod along the side of the building in trailer#2 and this one. Ther's now a prevailance of browns and whites that I'm not sure I like too much. Hopefully it's still subject to changes.
That's pretty much it. I can't stress enough how big of a deal it is to me to see Supes smiling and flirting with Lois. That went a long, long way. That and the amazing piano tune at the beginning - which, by the way, is the new theme, I take it, only piano-y? Good stuff.

Mentioned this in the All Things thread but

Just noticed something, sorry if someone else has mentioned it but that opening shot of Jor-El I'm pretty sure that's Kelex alongside him.

Hey, believe whatever you want. Most people just believe it'll be good and have faith in it. It's all right to be skeptical. I am, most of the time anyway but, I think this trailer is growing on me. Some of the footage is rehashed, which was expected. The new stuff is pretty cool, I thought him walking out with the suit in the light would be the money shot. Maybe they want people to go crazy in theaters once they see that. That's what you want anyway :yay:

Huge potential spoilers be warned from the leaks articles and trailers combined

Krypton is a place where babies are created not born, this belief is so hardened that its like a religion to them and when kal el is born he is their anti christ, they see him as the destruction of the kryptonian culture and way of life so Jor El Hides him. Zod makes it a mission to kill kal el and in the process he destroys krypton while kal el escapes. Pa kent and ma kent find kal el and name him clark, he shows his abilities in the youth and people talk and notice. Pa kent hides him and instills a hide your powers at any cost atttude in kal el. Lois lane stumbles on the story of a super boy and instances of a super man who vanishes after he uses his powers to hide out and persues him. Kal el meanwhile finds the fortress of solitude through his ship and becomes superman Meanwhile zod finally finds the ships signature going to earth and goes there and demands earth to turn over kal el while ofcourse he is missing and doesnt want to come out but then has to when he sees earth being destroyed.

I think it typical Nolan fashion Zod will have a very in depth back story. I like the feel of this fil through all 3 trailers

After this third trailer, I'm finally starting to get excited. Previously I was cautiously optimistic, and the first two while good didn't give me that "Hell yeah!" feeling. This third one has me ready for a midnight viewing!

No I just think this looks better. So to me it seems it will be better. I won't know obviously til the movie comes out but as of now this looks better than Iron Man 3 to me and to me it prolly will.

Personally I hope both movies do very well ($700m+ worldwide) but I think IM3 will be a bit more "successful" as it's coming off the rest of the MCU. Personal opinion and hypothesis. No debate necessary.

I thought it was a parking meter.

'If Batman is the way the world sees America, Superman is the way America sees itself,' Zimmer says.

Interesting

Anyone have a download link to a 1080p mp4 file?
