I love the Williams theme but its time to move on. The music in this was really great and inspiring

Really doesn't work for me. Part of it is that the tempos of the score and trailer's footage really don't mesh, but even still, things just felt more powerful with Zimmer's score in my opinion. William's score as great is it doesn't work here because the two just don't connect. It feels completely out of place.

wow... I can't believe I'm saying this but... I didn't like that AT ALL. It felt so underwhelming. Like it just didn't fit. Nice job to whomever did it but I am not a fan of the Williams theme over MOS imagery.

I've watched the new trailer like 5 times now all I can say is WOW AMAZING. I'm so excited to see this movie. June cannot get here soon enough. I havent looked this forward to a movie this much since Batman Begins. Please June get here soon!!

It didn't really match up the way I'd have done it but I can't listen to the classic theme without getting the shivers. I'm keeping an open mind regarding Zimmer, he'll do fine and I understand why they feel the need to move on but I grew up on Williams and it will always be Superman to me.

When the movie was first announced, I would have agreed with you. I wasn't sure how they would be able to do it. The Williams theme always gave me shivers as well. However, whenever I hear it paired with Man of Steel footage it leaves me flat. Extremely surprisingly so. There is such a huge visual-auditory disconnect for me. I guess that is a testament to how Snyder and company are really giving us a fresh take on the character.

People are so quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater they forget that donner's universe had plenty of untapped potential, it was the writing and direction that sucked.

The visuals and music have their own feeling and the Williams score just doesn't match.

Williams score comes off more like a spectacle. Zimmer has more adrenaline like fulfilling a quest.

Both themes are hummable.

Feels like a mismatch...but then better editing/choices would maybe improve it. Altogether, this new Superman movie has it's own vibe going on that needs something other than Williams.

It's funny, but the new Batman "theme" Molossus is more straight-forward and intense, whereas this music is more contemplative, almost unsure of itself, until it literally takes off. John Williams still isn't threatened, but I like the new direction HZ is taking.

I KNOWWWWW dude LoL! I felt exactly the same way, 1000% I got friggin' bored with that music. That piece is a classic masterpiece, so recognizable so hummable and very cool, no doubt about it, it worked for the Reeves movies. The music that Hans Zimmer has created is a masterpiece to me, I can't explain it. Music is extremely subjective (or...objective is it? ) what I mean to say how it affects someone and how it differs from person to person.

This piece of music used for the trailer, I know people were compaining about 'African Drums' or whatever, but I didn't think of Simba being raised by a monkey or anything at ALL when I saw it in Trailer #3. I thought it was such a moving, hopeful, exciting piece. To me it fit perfectly with this world. It is fresh and brand spankin' new...and a really well written piece of music.

It's too bad there is such a huge division on it, I wish everyone was all over it and they found the joy in it that I found.
