The more of hear about Volume 3, the more lame it sounds.

Much as I like Jeph Loeb, I think it was a big mistake to go on without Millar/Hitch.

I never really had any love for The Ultimates, but the complete lack of appeal in Vol. 3 is enough to explain all of the protest when Loeb gets attached to a book. Mad's art doesn't help.

Oh god, after re-reading the entire HC of Vol.1,I'm still in awe that Marvel is following this up with Loeb and MAD.

I guess if you go in totally forgetting the goodness that came before, things shouldn't be so bad.

i dunno if anyone's posted this yet, but this was done by Travis Charest...

Local collectors shop called Noble. They sell old videogames, used movies, cards and comics.

Why?
I go to both of the Noble's as well. The best place to by back issues is Comic Warehouse on Eubank and Manaul. 1/2 price :)

Soooo... the concept and premise of Ultimates is OBVIOUSLY dead...

Last time I checked, it was portrayed to be a complete reinterpretation of the Avengers with a heavy dose of illusion of reality. That's what I was reading and I loved every second of it.

It seems that sometime in the middle of Avengers 2, it became an out-of-continuity Avengers title. That's pretty sad.

I think what they are going to try and do now is show, REALISTICLY, what it would be like if Stark and the others tried to start a superhero team.

I think they are some things that might be interesting, or at least different from the Avengers, like how the public will treat them now that they aren't connected to the Government.
Or how will the Government treat them.
I guess now they have secret identities. I guess we will see.

I'd like to see Ultimate Iron Man go through lots and lots of different versions of his armor, upgrades, down grades, making it more stylised, and what not.
(not like the current Iron Man, I mean realistic upgrades and stuff.)

Who is that woman with the sword?

Even though Loeb's a good writer I hope he doesn't f**k this up. This was most definitely my favorite comic the last few years and I hope it doesn't turn into a crappy Marvel Team Up kind of story.

i can't see it :(
I had the same problem at first.
This is what i did, click the quote button. As soon as the Reply to Thread window showed so did the picture. And it has showed for me since then.

Hope that helps.

Wow, it's out alread! I remember thinking it would never come.

It's not #1 that will never come. It's #2-5 that will never come.

Anyone know where I can download it? You know I really don't wanna pay for this take on the Ultimates but I kinda wanna read it.

Requesting an illegal download source is still grounds for a ban, is it not?
