wait a second! what if the traitor is loki. ok he's not on the team, but they introduced him to everyone as the man who designed the technology thor was using. and even though loki denied responsibility for leaking the information about banner, he is the god of mischeif.

uhh but Loki's the one who told Thor that there was a traitor in their midst. he said that the traitor was working with friends of his.

Let's get this straight once and for all, AGAIN: Loki told Thor that he (Loki) did NOT leak the info about Banner being Hulk, that there was a traitor on the team (the Ultimates), that this traitor was a super-soldier, and that Thor will be surprised when he finds out who it is.

thats right kids, the god of mischeif NEVER lies.... becuase lying causes mischeif. :p

but i can't see cap killing hawkeye's family. unless the super soldier serum is going to his head and making him mad...

Or unless Loki OWNS him, because he's the one who has been keeping Cap alive all these years, protecting him from the inevitable lethal side-effects of the super-soldier serum.

I've just thought of something. What if Hank Pym ISN'T insane, but rather Loki has been manipulating reality to make him believe that someone else is the traitor, so that Hank joins this non-existent traitor and turns himself into the REAL traitor instead? When Hank was talking to the traitor in his apartment, he wouldn't have been talking to a real person or to a figment of his imagination, but rather to some illusion that Loki created.

Yeah, that is definately something if interest you got there.

Also, after having read Ultimate Iron Man, and finding out that Tony Stark is so super-smart because he has undifferenciated nervous tissue throughout HIS WHOLE BODY (essentially, every cell in his body acts as a brain cell), I find it strange that he's supposedly dying of a brain tumor...

Tony might be the traitor, his executing Hawkeye's family at point blank range would be a wink to 616 Tony never ever using a gun. ;)

Yeah this one got me... If it turns out Tony is the traitor, this could be played out - he confided in Thor and Cap that he had a tumour, when of course he doesn't and physically CAN'T have a brain tumour, so that he could get sympathy from them and stop any more questioning about why he joined the Ultimates... PLUS he's the only member of the team who goes to see Thor which is suspicious in itself... PLUS he has money, PLUS He's very condescending towards Thor, as if they are on opposing sides...

My suspicions of Tony are growing!!!

dont forget that we haven't seen any art of tony in the ultimates 3 sketches.....altho i rele think that its cap but loki is behind it all.....n i dont think hawkeye is dead that would be just stupid, i hope as sum1 pointed out wanda came back n shot the traitor...doesnt have to be a kill shot like in the arm or sumthin

I don't mean to be a d**k, but could you PLEASE write in NORMAL english? I don't need another headache.

Or it might be George W. Bush. Dubya HAS been in the Ultimates, issue 3 of volume 1 I believe, complete with bruise on his face and a pretzel joke behind his back. And he made a brief appearance (again with a pretzel) in the Ultimate War mini-series. Dubya might end up being an alien Nazi shape-shifter, who knows. ;) :D

I think it’s Betty Ross. Toward the end of volume one she actually seemed to start caring about Bruce. She is on the team. She full has access to the triskelion, all its resources and troops. Being raised by an army general as a patriot she probably isn’t to happy about preemptive strikes being launched by her country. As PR person she would know how to work an untraceable media leak.

But she's not a super-soldier, and she doesn't seem like a cold-blooded assassin.

At the present time none of The Ultimates seems like cold-blooded assassins except Fury. Correct me if I am wrong but it was stated the traitor was on the team not that he or she was a super soldier.

Quoted from Thor and Loki, The Ultimates 2 #5:

Thor: My father sent me here to save this world, Loki. This isn't a game we're playing. This is a matter of life and death and you've already had poor Banner killed with your pranks.

Loki: Ah, but that wasn't me. I knew I'd get the blame for that, but I really had absolutely nothing to do with outing Banner to the press. Between you and me, you have a wolf in the fold, Thor.

Thor: What?

Loki: Oh yes. There's a traitor in your team and one of these "super-soldiers" isn't quite as noble as they seem. I think you'll be surprised when you find out who. They're working for some friends of mine and, together with what I have in mind, the next few months should be very entertaining.

Plus, Millar has stated that he's been leaving clues as to who it is since the first issue of The Ultimates 2. So keep rereading the books, it's in there somewhere.

Loki is the god of lies and the fact that super-solider was in quotes leads me to believe that the term was being used loosely.

"Super-soldier" could just mean someone with super powers, or someone who is not an average soldier. This means Tony could very well be counted among them, because his Iron Man armor makes him anything but an average "soldier."

This does sort of rule out Fury and Betty Ross, however, but doesn't necessarily implicate anyone.

Captain Britain can't be the traitor as some have suggested, because he's not part of the Ultimates and he isn't American.

As for the brain tumor thing...I dunno. Time will tell, but something tells me that Card is just kind of going off and doing his own thing in the Ultimate Iron Man mini.

"Super-soldier" could also be refering to any associated with The Ultimates in any official capacity. Still sticking with Betty.
