that question was answered in the Ultimate Defenders 1st appearance where a newspaper published pictures of his disproportionately small junk.

:D What does he care, he's got Valkyrie? Can anyone say "Scantily-clad-blonde"?

Thing is, I think Hank Pym inherently has a lot of professional pride. He loved the fact that he beat Banner to create new Super Soldiers (himself), and is mildly obsessive about his work, so I don't think he'd slip up on a simple anaesthetic.

He didn't "slip up", Fury basically said you're fired but do this one last thing for me. He didn't care about the consequences/

i don't think Pym slipped up. i think the Ultimates traitor did something to allow Banner to escape.

I totally dig seeing Thor as a commie. :D

But seriously, that's f***ed up. :o
The Ultimate Russian Super Soviets

Abomination, Perun, Black Widow, Crimson Dynamo, Darkstar, Red Guardian, probably Sputnik (in christ like position) is in their (The SS Vision, stolen from Hank Pym maybe) perhaps Ursa Major as well and probably Loki

Do you think all of those characters are blacked out on purpose and will be revealed later (Obviously we know who most of them are)? Or do you think that's the actual cover.

I'm pretty sure that's the actual cover.

I don't think these guys are official Russian soldiers, but former KGB soldiers who became mercs or terrorists after the wall fell, and Natasha (who's probably the traitor) called in a favor from her old buddies.

Well, they're probably Hydra. AIM isn't technically a terrorist group. They're scientists who'll build you anything for anyone for the right price. They just work with terrorists alot.

Also, a "Hydra" is a mythological serpent-like creature, just like "Jormungand, the Midgard Serpent", Loki's eternal ally and Thor's mortal enemy.

He's also Loki's son, interestingly enough.

Gods are weird. Why is it that when a God gives birth to a giant talking snake, it's perfectly normal, but when I do it, the Men In Black come looking for me.

You know, I just realized the paralels that could be drawn between this and Ragnarok. Nick Fury is the one eyed king, Thor is the thunder god, Cap is the hero Balder, who's downfall marked the coming of Ragnarok, etc. They could have isue ten play out like Ragnarok, with Cap picking up the peices at the end like Balder did with Asgard.

Yeah, and Iron Man is... Vulcanison? The Norse God of... Metal? I suck. :( ;)

Issue 10 is only coming out JANUARY 18th, 2006. :(

"An unknown enemy with unimaginable power and an unstoppable force of will is at our shores... " Yeah, real specific.

Here's the whole thing (for issue 10):

"Despite all the globe-girdling surveillance information and awesome firepower of S.H.I.E.L.D. and its super-powered army- the ULTIMATES- the unthinkable has happened! Will hope rise from the ashes of defeat, or is this truly the end for the Ultimates?"

2006!!!

Way to long

The NEXT one, issue 9, is coming out in November. It's issue 10 (cover above) that's coming out in January. It's officially bi-monthly now. Sigh. :(

I love Bryan Hitch's art but I'm getting really tired of this guys' lateness hell Marvel gave him a six Issue head start and he still can't get his **** together.

He need to take so pointers from Mark Bagley, that guy has a really strong work ethic. I think he grew up in a military family? that could explain it.

They could be doing what the Ult Spider-Man Annual did with it's cover

Possible, but the first cover of the Ultimates Annual was just Sam Jackson in an Uncle Sam suit, nothing special. THIS cover, however, is VERY special. Unless the "REAL" cover for issue 10 shows Thor peeling off his face to reveal his true identity: The RED SKULL! :D

Oh, sorry, I misread, Ult SPIDER-MAN Annual, when they blacked out Kitty Pride, right? But I don't think they blacked out any of the characters on the cover of Ultimates issue 10, I think that's just the way they were drawn.
