Does anyone have any pics or new information about the upcoming issue 9?

ok, you guys hooked me, I gotta take a shot at this mystery.

so far the clues (that we know of) are:

(1):Thor's conversation with Loki

Loki: Oh yes. There's a traitor in your team and one of these "super-soldiers" isn't quite as noble as they seem. I think you'll be surprised when you find out who. They're working for some friends of mine and, together with what I have in mind, the next few months should be very entertaining.

this could mean that the traitor isn't necesserily a super-soldier since Loki clearly points out that there are more than one person involved. I don't think that Hank Pym is included in this quote since he's no longer part of the team and his less-than-noble actions aren't exactly news to anyone. But we know that he is working with the traitor.

I don't really think that Loki is responsible for messing with the tape because when you think about it there are easier ways to get the job done. Remember, Pym is working on an android that simulate human life and just so happens to have a Captain America costume & a major grudge against the Ultimates in general and Cap specifically.

so that would be Pym's involvement in the whole affair IMO.

now I need to check back for the clues to deduce who the other 2 people involved are.

It's true, the "and" and the "They're" seem to indicate that he was talking about two different persons.

But he said, "One of these super soldiers aren't as noble as they seem.

Meaning there is only one. They're doesn't necessarily mean more than one, you can use that as a single context.

But it COULD also be taken literally, in the sense that there's a traitor on the team AND one of the super-soldiers isn't quite as noble as he/she seems.

We'll know for sure when issue 9 comes out November 9th. :) Or not, if it's late, or if the story keeps dragging on. :(

I'd really, really hate it if it turned out to be Ultimate Red Skull, y'know. What's the point in building a mystery if it turns out to be a completely, wacky answer?! But i don't think Millar is that kind of writer.

I need to catch up with this because it's getting to become pointless guessing.

People mentionned Ultimate Red Skull because Mark Millar said once that we were gonna see the Ultimate version of the Red Skull as a main villain of the Ultimates. But it seems that Kleiser, Cap's arch-nemesis from WWII and the Nazi leader of the Chitauri (Ultimate Skrulls) from Volume 1 was the Ultimate version of the Red Skull after all.

Guys,I just started picking up some back issues of The Ultimates and I must say it has become my favorite comic currently next to Ultimate X-Men.The current arc is very cool so far.I have a couple questions.

Where is Thor's hammer and is there a chance we will see him back in action?

At the end of issue #3(the great trial issue),is that Banner who contacted Pym letting him know he's alive?Or was this someone else?If it was Banner, does this mean that Pym did something Fury and Co. were not aware of to help Bruce out?

Your answers will be appreciated!Ultimates rule!

Oh yea, another thing.Am I the only one not excited about Joe Mad coming onboard as an artist?I've really loved Hitch's art but Joe Mad's cartoony art is just going to be an extreme departure from the realistic tone of the book.

To be honest, I haven't a clue. That's quite a good point... I mean, if they have his equipment, you think they'd have tried it on someone else, right? To see how easily it can be controlled? And of course, if for some reason that doesn't work.. then THor's the real deal. Oh i dunno... anyway.

This, my friend, is a matter of opinion. Personally, I think Pym was dead certain he'd anaesthetised Banner enough. Which i why he reacted so sourly to Fury's remark in the helicopter about the amount he'd injected Bruce with. "I'm not an idot", something like that. I think he just underestimated the Hulk's latent will to survive.

Also, it's a current theory that the nuclear explosion the Hulk was caught in furhter mutated his system, turning him into the emerald goliath we're familiar with in regular Marvel continuity. All will become clear!

(and i agree with what you said about MAD.)

Could someone explain this whole thing to me and please don't say issues becuse I have no way of getting them? Thanks

LOOK AT THIS CLOSELY:

ultimates10.jpg

LOOK AT THE SOLDIERS.

LOOK AT WHAT 'THOR' IS HOLDING, AND WHAT IT'S A SYMBOL FOR.

LOOK AT THE COLOUR OF 'IRON MAN'S' LIGHTS, AND WHAT SUPER-VILLAINS MIMIC IRON MAN'S ARMOUR.

LOOK AT THE WOMAN HOLDING THE GUNS, SLIGHTLY RIGHT OF CENTRE.

NOW CONSIDER THE ULTIMATES, THE GENIUINE ARTICLES, AND THINK AMONG ALL OF THEM, WHO HAS THE STRONGEST TIES TO RUSSIA OR THE FORMER SOVIET UNION...?

I BELIEVE NATASHA IS THE TRAITOR

Could the big guy on the far left be Abomination? Emil Blonsky is Russian. Hmmm?

Wow!

That pic got me so excited!Where did you get that?I'm so happy I picked up this title!

ISM,one more thing regarding your responses.

On first read,I automatically got the first impression that Hank was up to something or knew something that everyone else didn't when Fury asked him if he gave Banner enough dosage to keep him out until the bomb went off.I don't know why, maybe it was the way he responded or his facial expression.

The Trial Of The Hulk is one of my fav issues of all time now!

Left to Right: Abomination, Evil Thor?, Crimson Dynamo, Evil Cap?, ???, Black Widow

The build up of this story is reminding me of Batman:Hush. Everyone was so caught up about who, that they couldn't see the wood for the trees and it was the why that was the shocker, and also the more interesting aspect of the story. Everyone that is suggesting Stark is the traitor, and they have presented good evidence.I mean why has Stark, who begun not wanting to associate his technology with the millitary at all now building a war plane? Why with all the secrecy around his armour would he notonlygive up the specs for the robots but also give a replica to a former Soviet agent? Why was he so easy to give up on his best friend Thor and side with everyone else in writing him off, when Tony has defended him in the past? All this strange behaviour, ever since he started to date the Black Widow. Mark my words, IF Stark is the traitor, he is but the Widow's pawn in a greater game!......
