Comics Official X-MEN: LEGACY Discussion Thread

I'm so sick of Hellion. Hes always the first one to rush into or start a fight. I'm glad his arms were incinerated.
Huh? Freanzy is the one that started the fight. He stood back and didnt get involved until he saw her outnumbered by a trio of Avegners. And he wasnt alone as he rushed in alongside the other students. Anyways I love Hellion. He needs to be used more

this time yes, but you know he wanted to be in a fight. And I just kept thinking about Utopia, I'm pretty sure he threw the first punch, and he was leader of those riots. Then how pissy he was after Second Coming (though understandably). I used to at least find the character interesting, but I haven't seen anything in recent books to like him anymore.

Overall has this book been decent? Been awhile since I gave Legacy a read. Have quite a few X books on the pull list and kinda on the edge of picking this up or not.

some people like it but Ive been dissapointed. The art's been weak and the stories havent been great. Plus still too much emphasis on Rogue for my liking.

Thanks, good to know. WATX has been consistent and wanted to read more from that team but would rather save the cash if its not worth it.

It doesn't seem like much changes since Carey left. The first arc was good, felt like a team book but it rather quickly refocused on Rogue. And like Havok said, the first artist was pretty good but this current artist isn't doing it for me.

I never understood why they made the decision to focus Legacy on Rogue, I mean what made her so special. I know Carey had a hard on for her but why did the editors agree to focus it on her? It was much more interesting when it focused on Xavier..

^Agreed. And it made more sense of the title change. "Legacy" and him dealing with the ghosts of his past throughout the career of the X-Men. That and Charles hasn't done ANTHING since he helped Rogue, beat the crap out of Exodus's Acolytes and left the book.

Actually I never liked the art on the book post Regenesis. I wasnt a fan of Baldeon's pencils and hated his Rogue (whom he's had to draw alot bc she is a lead). Its not horrible but its too cartoony for me

Yeah i didn't meant to write it like you did. I meant to say i enjoyed the first artist but this new guy draws like everyone has a 1960s mop top.

IA, the art is worse now and hate the way the guy does the hair, especially Rogue's bangs. Its too bad Brooks is only doing the covers bc his art is amazing

The cover arts pretty awesome.

From what I can tell, the facial expressions look like they are drawn kind of funky.

So I listen to the Uncanny X-Cast podcast and they made a mention in a past episode about how tight the continuity used to be in Marvel (like when Wolverine had his first solo story he was absent from the Uncanny title) and how they missed that. I've felt that way for some time now, but reading this latest issue recalled that discussion to me. I found it funny we see Gambit here defending the school when in AvX Versus #2 and in this weeks WatX he just got his ass handed to him by Cap. And also Kitty going out to help his teammate while in the other book she was pretty much alone teaching the kids. No wonder Marvel can't collect these crossovers into singular collected hardcovers.

Yeah the last issue was a great one for Rogue but sucked for mostly the rest. Man I cant stand her these days

She spent a few issues talking about how she wasn't gonna go back to her old self, but she sucked up all those powers in the blink of an eye. And all it took was Mimic getting beat up lol

Good news? NO Rogue at all in today's Legacy which is quite a shocker. Bad news? Its ALL about Frenzy and really little to do with AvX. Very skippable if you find her character grating
