Days of Future Past "Only have one more new character" in sequel says Vaughn

Longshot, Dazzler, or Forge as new X-Men; If they can use Emma Frost then surely we can use Psylocke since most people didn't even know she was in X3.

The team is really in need of an anti-hero now. So if they could find a way to work in Cable or Archangel that would be great. I know Angel was used already but if they ignore continuity or make him a different mutant than the one that was in the The Last Stand, I would love to see him with the metallic wings.

Villain, Sinister or Apocalypse. Although the Sentinels have a retro feel that could work in this series. Perhaps the new character is their creator, the Sentinels themselves would be extra.

I would love to see Sentinels. I could see Vaughn's style working well with them.

I was thinking Juggarnaut as well.

But it strikes me as odd they wouldn't add more. God, I would love to see Cyclops, Jean and Storm, but they're still too young. Perhaps if they make a third one.

Although I don't think they would go for a character we've already seen. I would even agree we should see a new character.

I'm still convinced that they mean one new character as in one new main character; they'll add other side characters they feel would fit in.

^Exactly. Nightcrawler was really the only main-starring new mutant in X2. Lady Deathstrike was just a small background character and Jason was a mcguffin at most.

just got back from seeing First Class. Loved it!!

I'm excited for the sequels.

However, I do hope they don't just add "one" more character.

They really need to bring in the "familiar" faces. I want to see young Jean, Scott, and Storm, at least.

Adding Jean and Storm would be helpful because

at the end of the Movie, Prof. X has 3 guys and no more girls on his team. So definitely need to add female characters to the team.

For the villain, they could use Sinister, and he would be interested in the genes of 2 young mutants in particular.

Indeed, I could see the narrative of future sequels revolving around Jean. You could have 3 sides ( Prof X, Magneto, and the Hellfire Club ) recognizing in Jean a very powerful mutant and thus all sides vying to recruit her.........

Ever since they announced the prequels I thought it would be great if they would use it to tell the Phoenix Saga closer to how Singer intended it by showing the original occurrence of Jean's power growth. Even if by the end they still have to stick to continuity and have it end with Professor X messing with her mind I would still be happy to see the Phoenix firebird on screen at least once.

I wonder if when they say "new face" they mean someone who wasn't in "X-men First Class" or someone who wasn't in the franchise to begin with? That way you can add all the favourites (Cyclops, Jean and Storm) and still have space for "only one new character"

I didn't even think about it, but "new character" meaning "new to the franchise in general" is very likely. Vaughn seems to be talking about a new villain.
Unless the X-Men is going to be made up of only Havok, Beast, and Banshee, that probably means some characters that appeared in the franchise already may join the team.

this is what I want too.

And now it would be even better, because we would get to meet Jean and Scott when they are younger, and thus watch their relationship grow.

If they do the Phoenix storyline, I would like them to keep with the X3 route in that the "Phoenix" persona is just the ultimate manifestation/evolution of Jean's powers, and not some cosmic entity. The X movies are all pretty much rooted in reality, so cosmic Phoenix entity wouldn't really fit.

Plus, with Prof X

we see in this movie that's he's not above messing with someone's mind when he mindwiped Moira's mind. With Jean, we could have a situation where Prof X sees just how destructive her "Phoenix" persona can be. to the point where he has to place the mental blocks in her mind to protect her ( and everyone else ) until she can control her powers better.

I`d say Forge and Dazzler joining the X-Men for the next film... Then Forge and Beast can build a new X-Jet and DangerRoom together. Dazzler because the X-Men need a female on the team.

I think the next villain should be Nathaniel Essex/Sinister. You could possibly tie him in with Apocalypse, but visually, I'd think you'd have to drastically change Aps appearance in order to make him work in these X films.

With Sinister and/or Apacolypse, you could definitely work in the story that mutants go back much further than the present time. Plus, Sinister or Apacolypse as the villain would work great with Jean and Scott, with Jean's potential as Phoenix and her and Scott's genes together.

Also, it would be nice to see Sentinels at some point. Sentinels are a staple of the X-men. If we can have giant Transformer robots, then the public can handle Sentinels. Perhaps they don't have to be quite as large, but in some form or another, Sentinels NEED to be in an X film ( and no, the Sentinel head in X3 doesn't count ).

Dazzler could work, but I feel at some point you DO need to bring in more familiar faces.

For a new female character have:
Armor, who can generate psionic body armor.

That would be awesome to see a fight sequence between this character and Riptide in a new film. Great suggestion, mate. :word:

I would love to see Armor in an X-Men film. I don't know if I want to see her in a sequel to First Class but, at some point, definitely.

for future films, I think we definitely need Jean, Scott, and Storm

heck, wasn't the white haired girl in the Cerebro sequence Storm?

For an asian hero, I'd go with Psylocke ( and no, the "Psylocke" in X3 doesn't count ). She could be an asian who grew up in Britain ( you could even use an actress with mixed asian/white ethnicity ), thus eliminating the need for the whole "body switching" thing.

Forge would also be interesting, a good compliment to Beast.

Since you have Alex Summers, you can't go wrong with adding Polaris.

It has to be Apocalypse. Why else would the first film involve Moira and Banshee?

They could have given us some better mutants in First Class than Darwin, Angel, and Riptide. What about Forge, Zaladane (with ability to take powers), and Polaris?

I'd love to see Armor! We definitely need a female on the team. I would also at some point in some way like to see whoever played Gambit come back

It would be awesome to have her in a future film.

If she is in the sequel, it would be nice to have scenes of Havok, in sort of a leadership role, trying to help her hone her skills, kind of like how Charles helped him with his in this movie.

Putting in Storm, Cyclops and/or Jean would make my head spin (in a bad way).

I'd rather they do something with Polaris, Dazzler, Thunderbird, Psylocke, Sunspot, and/or Avalanche...
