Days of Future Past "Only have one more new character" in sequel says Vaughn

All I can say is to expect more Xmen and other mutants to be placed in a bag along with their history in a second and shook up as Singer and Co draws names and matches them with whatever history comes they pull out the second bag. Jeez.

After seeing the movie it's obvious that Emma will never be an Xman, cause they won't Mags to have his own telepath now. God can they not just stick to the source material.

You stink up every thread with your purist definitions. The comics have retconned themselves within 75 issues. The comics reinvent characters, plots, themes, powers, etc. over and over again. But no...a movie can't do it! Blasphemy I say.

A purist? My good man there are too many mutants that can be used without having Xmen be villains. Emma is an Xman and has been longer then she's been a villain. She should've been introduced with the Hellfire club but instead of joining the Xmen at the end she joins up with Magneto? Frost was never on a team with Magneto. This isn't a retcon its a rewrite of history. You wanna give Magneto a telepath then give him the Shadow King. Heck history is screwed up so use him. At least he was actually around in the 60's.

So, after watching Drive Angry, Amber Heard should totally be Polaris.:awesome:

I don't think she's the new character, but so what. :yay:

Magneto joined the Hellfire Club at one point. With Emma.

hopefully there will be more sex and action in the next film..

I still don't know why they haven't introduced Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Hell even polaris. They're Magneto's children for cripes sake.

I just want to see a sex scene with blue Mystique. Kinky.

Prometheus .....

and um....there probably won't be a sequal folks

Here's a challenge for you guys: how would you introduce Apocalypse/ Sinister?

I would have Sinister send his Marauders after the X-Men. They capture several of them but Professor X eventually learns that they're really after Havok. When trying to find out the reason he learns that Havok has a brother. He tries to reach Scott, bringing one of his brightest new recruits Jean Grey with him. But as they got meet up with Cyclops the Marauders attack the X-Mansion and capture the X-Men and Xavier's younger students. Professor X and Cyclops go to try save them in somewhat of an inverse of the X2 situation (except with Jean along for the ride). Magneto could have had some of his Brotherhood members captured by Sinister as well and Xavier decides to work with him again due most of his team being captured. But Mr. Sinister is actually lying in wait for them to bring Cyclops and Jean to him so he can use their DNA to create the ultimate mutant.

I wouldn't do Apocalypse unless they're willing to classify this as a reboot since it would seem weird for them to have faced Apocalypse already by the time of the trilogy. I would pull a Star Trek and have Cable come back in time. He basically seizes control of the X-Men away from Xavier and starts training them hard. He warns them about the release of a villain called Apocalypse in the future. The X-Men try to stop Apocalypse's return but he awakens at the end.

If they did have Magneto and Xavier working together, it would be cool if they Magneto, along with Hank, helped build a new Cerebro under the mansion to help locate the captured mutants. It would be consistent with Xavier's "Because he helped me build it" line in X-Men.

I could see Magneto and Xavier putting their differences temporarily on hold and teaming up to fight against a common enemy they do it all the time in the comics

If this one makes enough money there will be. As for Sinister and Apocolypse. I hope they are introduced in "X4" if they make one. They can bring cyclops back using that whole thing and bring Havok and Banshee back also. As for who they are adding to the next "First Class" movie I hope it's Quicksilver. Where Q joins Xavier's school and in the end ends up getting killed due to Xaviers orders, this causes Magneto to resent Xavier even more.

I brought up an apocalyspe idea in another thread. But I evaded a huge question. How does the apocalypse story line help build the characters and improve on the underlying themes of the xmen? How does this arc challenge the beliefs of the prof?

It's tough stuff if you ask me. They can jack up that movie if they aren't careful. apocalypse must symbolize something that contradicts the xmen... I dunno

Otherwise they'd undo all the great work they did with this movie and u'd have a action film with a weak plot.

Apocalypse was about survival of the fittest more than mutant dominance of Magneto. He creates hell on earth and sees who comes out the other side he doesn't care if your human or mutant if you prove worthy in his eyes your ok

Yeah. I also think with Apocalypse it would be interesting to get a villain that isn't so invested with the labels of "mutant" or "human."

You can have Quicksilver in the movie and his relationship with Magneto without Q actually being Mags' son.

By the start of a sequel, Mag's group could already have added one more mutant, Quicksilver. (I don't care if Angel returns or not) And it could be illustrated early on that they have a father/son-mentor/prodigy type relationship.

Shadow King was never on a team with Magneto.

Reread my post. I said Emma Frost should have been introduced with the Hellfire club. I don't know how clear I can be. So here it goes. Since they decided to use Emma it is only fitting that she be brought into the movieverse as a memeber of the Hellfire club first. I also said that after it was over instead of joining the Xmen she goes with Magneto into his brotherhood. Emma was never with Mags in the comic in the brotherhood. She was part of the Hellfire club and after her stint there she became part of the Xmen. I know the movies are different.

I also never said that Magneto was part of the Hellfire club. Where did that come from. Now Magneto in the comic actually was the Black King of the Hellfire club's inner circle after he defeated Shaw. He however had no interest in the title or being part of the club and left.

No, the Shadow King was never with Magneto but since the movies are throwing mutants in anywhere and changing timelines and character history then why not have the Shadow King on board with Mags. He has always been a villian, at least that would be consistant. The Shadow King should be in a film regarding the beginning og the Xmen. He is the reason Prof X started the Xmen. Even if he had been a part of the Hellfire club with Shaw at least it wouldve paid homage to the importance of the character. Magneto or Shaw was not the for the formation of the Xmen by Xavier it was the Shadow King. To me that's like Bruce Wayne parents never being murdered in front of him and the pain eventually led him to become the Dark Knight.

They don't have the rights to Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

I think someone mentioned here that it's up in the air and would probably resort in a legal battle between Marvel and Fox. Fox owns the rites to the Xmen and the mutants tied within the X universe and the term mutant. Fox don't have rites to all the mutants in the Marvel universe due to some clause that stated if the character is tied to another title that in not with in the x universe. It's why they don't own Namor. I don't know how true any of this is, but i read it. I would imagine that despite Wanda and Quicksilver being mutants and have appeared in the Xmen Marvel can make the case that they have been featured with in the Avengers far longer then any X title and the Avengers have been a long running titile, so it would proabaly get dicey and become a leagal matter. If they were ever used by Marvel they wouldn't be Mags children and mutants. I just think both parties proabaly feel its best not to use the characters.
