Can't wait to see him in action! So much talent in this movie! I think it still has the chance to turn into a billion dollar franchise eventually

Retitled "Uprising". Not a big fan, as that seems a bit more generic than "Maelstrom". We will see if that has anything to do plot wise.

I'll get over it, but Maelstrom sounds more appealing but probably harder to pronounced depending on the region you're from. They probably picked a title that could be translated into most languages.

Part 1 was one of WB's biggest Opening Boxoffice in China but now with Jing Tian and Zhang Jin 2 of Chinas Biggest Stars it will even be a bigger hit but i hope it will be a sussess in the US this time

One of the things I really liked about the first movie was the visual style and I hope they will be able to achieve something close to the first movie even though they don't have Guillermo Del Toro and Guillermo Navarro working on this.

But they do have Dan Mindel (The Force Awakens), so that's great!

I think Guillermo Navarro is starting to do more directing as of late, and hasn't work with GDT since Pac Rim (who has been working with a different cinematographer on Crimson Peak and The Shape of Water).

After my mom saw the first movie she said it reminded her of Power Rangers. Giant robots fighting giant monsters and the pilots are called rangers. Now it looks like they have some teenagers with attitude.
