what is the cartoon network gif from, I love that something like it was used in the movie :)
It's from Sym-Bionic Titan. I actually had never seen that before until I saw the episode for the first time last night on Toonami. It's so cool and it's pretty much shot-for-shot.

I thought it might be from that show. I wonder what robot is in the GIF because I dont remember that one from the show. That show ended before its time IMO. thanks for posting it. Nice to see more influences from different sources for this movie. Hmm could it be that the pilots from Sym-Bionic that work as one also be an inspiration for the Jaeger pilots and how then control the robots?

Yeah, I'm sure it served as inspiration. I also think I heard of another mech show that does the two-pilot thing mind-linking thing, but I'm not sure. The robot in the gif is called the HAMMER.

Indded. Crimson Typhoon needs to watch over me when I go to bed.

I want to see this movie for the simple fact that the monsters remind me of Digimon :woot:

There's some concept art in the new issue of Total Film and some more information on Ron Pearlmans character.

^I think that was the idea.

Some concept art

really digging this one!

before the clean up crew arrives?

Cherno Alpha looks great. Really helps get a sense of scale. Is that second pic part of a Kaiju?

Cherno Alpha is starting to appeal to me more.

I'm more of a Crimson Typhoon type of guy... although, Gispy Danger is looking promising as well.

So I have a online friend, who knows a guy that can translate Japanese text. I asked him if he could forward the HD Coyote Tango image and translate anything.

Among the techno babble, one thing stood out. Apparently, Tango has an energy shield.

It looks like a skull, considering it has no flesh on it I'd guess its been there awhile. Also looks like there is scaffolding at the base, maybe they are turning it into a building of some sort.

I have no clue what I'm looking at, but it's gorgeous. My hype is rising.

I wonder if there are any side effects from the toxicity and corpses of the Kaiju.

Just for example, another anime series this movie reminds me is Godannar. Very similar plot. Sort of new highly evolved monsters coming out of the ocean and attacking humanity and cities all over the world. They were called mimetic beasts. High exposure to the monsters as well as the pilots who fight them get infected with a sort of mimesis virus as a result and basically turns them into mimetic beasts.

I recall reading somwhere that the reason the Jaegers doesnt have guns or missile-like weapons is that the blood of the kaijus are toxic and that the first time one appeared, they shot it dead but the blood splatter and stuff contaminated the entire city. So it seems the kaijus are very very toxic and dangerous to people to get near.

i think i was reading somewhere months ago that their blood is toxic and that Perlman is selling the body parts and blood on the black market.
