I hope shots like that are in the movie. They are more exciting to me than anything from the trailer.

I recall reading somwhere that the reason the Jaegers doesnt have guns or missile-like weapons is that the blood of the kaijus are toxic and that the first time one appeared, they shot it dead but the blood splatter and stuff contaminated the entire city. So it seems the kaijus are very very toxic and dangerous to people to get near.

Striker Eureka has anti-Kaiji missiles and Del Toro said that the Jaegers would also have artillery. We know that some of them also have plasma weapons. So yes the Kaijus are very toxic and the Jaeger weapons systems look to be designed to injure and kill Kaiju while at the same time minimizing damage to the environment. But that may be hard to do but at least the Jaegers can move the Kaijus away from population centers.

I've been wondering, those two giant things on Alpha's shoulders, are those jet engines?

I'm thinking they are some type of cannons, but that would be cool if one of these could fly.

If they are jet engines, they're probably for providing power. I don't think those little things can give the gift of flight to big fat Cherno.

But it'd be cool if they end up as weapons. So far the only weapons Cherno Alpha has are the Tesla Fists, a bit on the weak side if you ask me.

I wonder if any of the Jaegers can fly. I think the helicopters have to drop them down from large metal crates.

They can't. Though one battle is supposed to take place in the upper stratosphere...so...it must get up there somehow...

Or maybe burst forward movement, to close in on a kaiju quicker?

Heh, it's kinda sad. In Pacific Rim, Strike Eureka is the most advanced and powerful Jaeger there is, right? And in the trailer, thanks to some observent fans, you can see it destroyed. It's the hand Stacker Pentecost is standing on when he gives his speech.

Yup, definitely a Coyote Tango concept design. Same chest, 3 fingers, same feet, and even has a few of those weird circles all over the body.

No, the "Angel Wings" mounted on its back are there to provide stabalization in what the blueprint calls "burst movement".

That sweded trailer is pretty much the best one. I really liked how they handled the Jaeger crash.
