Pacific Rim - Part 3

Just take what's left of the marketing budget and somehow turn that into "Wal-Mart" tickets. Might be better investment than an all ought blitz with two weeks to go.

i feel officially sorry for Del Toro. he had unluck with Hobbit and Mountain of Madness. and now Legendary and WB.

I can't stand people like this. I get why he is this way, but damn dude way to be a dick. Especially putting his finger to his ear and turning his head towards Raleigh.

I have two books at my bedside, Lieutenant, the PPDC Code of Conduct and the King James Bible. The only proper authorities I am aware of are my commanding officer Marshall Stacker Pentecost and the Lord our God

:hehe:

Idris Elba really sells it though. :funny:

SO much negativity....a positive outlook can work wonders people. Tracking badly or not, I'm still gonna remain positive because, it's better than being down about it. I'm gonna put good energy out there.

Now, that clip, awesome. I like they they went for a clip with character interaction instead of Jaeger vs Kaiju action. Got plenty of that in the trailers.

It is simply comes off too geeky.
Because The Avengers, Game of Thrones and every other franchise currently making bank aren't extremely geeky properties with decades of over complicated backstory.

I think redhawk has a point kinda. It is true that so many things that are popular today are big "geeky" things like superhero movies, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, and Game of Thrones. I think the problem with Pacific RIm is that it just hasnt been marketed well.

I hadnt really noticed because Im already sold on the movie, but I am in the geek demographic. I think need/needed to make a trailer that is more based on the characters and storyline that they go through.
Teaser: all action
1st Theatrical: More character and actual storyline
That's how I think they shouldve noticed

I still think this will at the least be a very cool movie to watch.

That's the point, they should have had that. This was the one movie based on an original property that needed to be pushed to the kiddies. Possible animated series down the line, pajamas, Lunchables and ****, etc.

See, they should be paying me for this right now.

In the film the main story takes places years after the first Kaiju attack right?
They couldve done the a prequel anime miniseries.

Also youre right about the tie ins. Does this not have any promotional tie ins? I havent really noticed, but if so that is pretty stupid

They have the prequel comic. Making a full on animated series is expensive. Same with toys and tie-ins to an unproven/new IP. I just don't think they have the money for all of that.

If they make a sequel I expect the full blown treatment. It just has to prove itself with $$$.

Take with grain o' salt as with all twitter stuff.

If this does get a decent critical review ratio they should release them sooner than later. If a good deal of them are positive it helps generate buzz. Hopefully DM2 doing gangbusters doesn't steal too much of the headlines.

They're the last operating shatterdome in the world as far as I can tell.

The last thing he needs is a rebellious Jaeger Jockey.

I thought Pentecoast was great in that scene. VBZ put it best, he's at his limit. K still loved how he pointed his fingers to his ear. Put Raleigh right in his place.

Its that he said "I don't need your sympathy." It seems Raleigh was offering him support and he throws it back in Raliegh's face. I get it the world is gone to ****, but there's no call to be a dick. There is professional barriers in the ranks of military, and then there is that.

Well his adoptive daughter is putting herself in danger being Gipsy Danger's pilot. I think his attitude is justified.

Pentecost is overprotective of Mako because he's her adoptive father.

Raleigh didnt force her into the cockpit. Plus, she's a grown ass woman. What he said in that scene was uncalled for regardless of what his grown daughter is or isn't doing because Raleigh didn't force her into the cockpit. Especially if Raleigh is looking after her the best he can and was trying to reassure him. I have no doubt it will all make sense in the film, but as of now I don't like the guy.

If Raleigh was being an insubordinate ass prior to that scene then I get it, but what I get from that scene is Raleigh attempted to reassure him or support him in aome way and he spit in Raleighs face essentially.

Well we did see the scene AFTER whatever altercation Stacker and Pentecost had. Just have to wait and see what started it.

I'll hope the next clip shows how Mako and Raleigh are with each other. That's what I am dying to see.

Yeah, I really wanna see that too. It seems like its the heart of the movie so its got my interest peaked.

The scene after?

Part of the reason I'm so eager to see how they are is because I want romance between them. The plot sets itself up so hard. If they don't fall in love or kiss or whatever, I will be less than thrilled.
