Pacific Rim - Part 3

I think he is a damn fine writer. A great writer even and even when I disagree with him I think that.

Its not a matter of "likeability" or even necessarily of agreeing with him. Many of just feel that Faraci is actually not that good at putting together a coherent argument. He is himself a "fanboy" and displays the worst kind of stereotypical fanboy behavior. He is far too apt to turn to personal attacks against those who disagree with him or against those who made the work he is critiquing. He displays a consistent lack of professionalism often writing purposefully insulting non-updates in the most hit-****ing manner that if they were forum posts instead of blog posts would be heavily modded. He makes some pretty extreme leaps in his readings of some material but then treats his interpretations as fact, even in the face of commentary from the content creators, and again, slams those who try to disagree with him or explain exactly why he's wrong. He is easily the worst writer on his own site.

:applaud

I love the attitude that those who dislike a writer need to be dismissed as just 'fanboys' who need to be schooled by someone who apparently 'says how it is'. Give me a break.

Very well said.

That's not frozen in fear, that's not knowing how to act with cg
Maybe it will look better in the movie? Either way he wouldn't be the first actor who was lousy at acting around greenscreen. I loved Paltrow in the first Iron Man movie but I thought her acting with the visual effects was terrible. She has gotten much better though.

Lmfao...where is that class for interacting with CG environments/objects? How much does it cost?

I see a whole bunch of people talking to people, no one interacting with CG creatures there, or really having to act terrified in any manor.

I'm just saying, they aren't ultimately doing the same thing. Their scenes involve them getting out of cars and talking to people....the cars and the people are all actually there, the green background isn't very different from any other stage acting.

Billington is a huge nerd/geek, problem is: he usually loves everything, that's why I find this surprising, especially considering he was all over the movie for a while now. Praise from Rian Johnson is enough for me anyway ;)

He does love everything.

I'm not sure what to expect, tonally from this film, but that last clip had a kind of GHOSTBUSTERS vibe going for it. And.... that's really not a bad thing. A GB or STARSHIP TROOPERS approach might be the best way to thread the needle this kind of material would have to in live action.

The Cancelling the Apocalypse speech is pure Independence Day, which is awesome.

Yeah, the acting in the scene looks off. I am with Poni on that.

Can't wait for this film. It's the kind of film i've been waiting for for a long time. I know someone who has seen it (he works in the industry) and he really enjoyed it. Obviously he couldn't tell me ANYTHING but that was enough for me. I know i'm going to like it.

my eyes will have sex with this movie. ;)
