I agree. I too wanted a bit more of that intimate character moments.

And I'm loving these ideas and the slogans.

When I watched the film, afterwards I felt kind of sick. Like something in the stomach and my mind was a bit weird. Is that like motion sickness or something? It felt weird.

I'd love it if the Movie had more of a Full Metal Panic vibe, during the human vs human conflict, before the Kaiju return.

And I really want to see a Mech like this.

Since the rift is closed they need to show what would CERTAINLY happen IRL, the nations using Jaeger tech for wars. Maybe in the beginning then the Kaiju reappear so we have to join forces again.

That could be interesting, nations using Jaegers to take over other nations and fight wars, it could lead to some interesting conflict in the Jaeger program with all of the different nationalities and some cool robot vs robot battles. Then of course, another rift/the same rift re-opens and they have to join forces again.

I've been out of the loop for the Blu-Ray release. Is any store offering anything specific for the release next week?

Instead of the alien invasion coming from a worm hole in our skies like in the Avengers they come from under our mantle at the sea floor. This movie had Godzilla's fighting Robotech robots with visual effects done by ILM masterfully what's not to like? I read somewhere that this film was just fighting and had no soul. I was surprised it had one, well done Del Toro well done!!

I watched this for the first time since theaters. I have to say I enjoyed it much more the 2nd time. I'm looking forward to the special features on the bluray. Del toro always does great special features.

The blu-ray picture is meant to be amazing, cannot wait to see it again but it doesnt come out until November here. I hope it does find a new life on BD though, and people who didnt see it at the discover it, its a gem of a movie and contains probably the best action sequence of 2013 with the Hong Kong sequence.

From what I've seen the 2 disc dvd actually comes with most of the same special features as the bluray. Has del Toro done a commentary for this though? His commentaries are pretty consistently hilarious.

Can't wait to pick it up this Tuesday! Only saw it once in 2D in theaters but thought it was pretty good. I wonder how good that statue from the limited edition version looks in person? But will probably just end up buying the Blu Ray/DVD/Digital Copy edition though.
