Pacific Rim - Part 6

^He did have that westerner walk going on in the movie, I think it was a cross between cowboy and samurai in how he moved.

I think Best Buy has this for the cheapest price with the blu ray/ DVD/ and digital copy going for 25 bucks I believe. The 3D blu ray combo pack is 34 bucks . No real store exclusive but there is a limited edition that comes in a gypsy danger packaging. Will be picking up my copy tomorrow afternoon.

Forget that. What about Charlie Hunnam's walk in this film? Man, the dude was swaggering like there was no tomorrow. Specially see the first scene where he is walking with his brother, his shoulders are swinging side to side, it was like an extremely over done "hero" walk but I think Del Toro kept it because it looks cool.

His walk was very similar to Tom Hardy's in Warrior. Its very over the top and an egotistical put on but that definitely fits with the character at that point.

Jeez Tom Hardy in Warrior. Has to be one of the most awful performances I have ever seen in my life. I vaguely liked the film but Tom Hardy was so off-putting that I cannot stand that movie anymore and remembrance of it is painful.

he was acting over the top and cartoony. but it worked in the context of the movie IMO.

I'm wondering what movie some of you guys saw. Hardy was great in Warrior. Yeah, Edgerton and Nolte I felt were better, but Hardy was still great.

I picked up the Blu-ray today. I was a little disappointed to see that the display at Best Buy was really small compared to recent releases like Star Trek and Iron Man 3. There were probably only 12 copies of the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, with even less of the 3D version.

Anyone saying Tom hardy was terrible or his performance in The Warrior was cartoonish either didn't see the movie at all or is trolling. That movie was great and his performance was solid. It's the role that convinced many that he could pull off playing Bane in Dark Knight Rises. Anyway, heading to Best Buy to pick up my copy. Any word on what the store exclusive content is?

Opinions? Subjectivity? What are those? Something from the stone age I guess.

He walks like this pretty frequently in Sons of Anarchy, too. I'm beginning to think this is just his normal walk

Nope its fact Hardy was amazing in Warrior which was an incredibly underrated movie. Ugh didn't really like this in theaters and it didn't get any better on blu ray. i was hoping the action scenes would be a bit note clear but they're not and now that its not on the big screen the awful characters and cringe worthy dialogue are much more apparent

I hope it does well on home release and it finds its audience. Also I would like to point out, everytime I see your avatar, it makes me happy.:woot:

Apparently you haven't seen many movies.

Considering I've reviewed hundreds of movies, I very much doubt that.

They are entitled to their opinions but when I think about Tom Hardy in the warrior, I don't think bad acting or cartoonish. I have seen bad acting and Tom's performance is NOT one of them. Again, people are entitled to their opinions but I still think that we saw very different films if they thought his acting sucked in that movie and critics seemed to agree with me on that.

I just picked up the blu ray combo pack and I am loving all these extra features this movie has. Its a rare thing these days with movies giving up barebones behind the scenes features. Haven't watched the movie, but I liked it in theaters, it's a fun dumb movie about giant robots fighting monsters, I wasn't expecting a Chris Nolan inception style story here so in that regard I was not disapointed. Sure, the acting was cheesey and plot was cliche but it served its purpose and was still better than Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon. Hopefully, more people give this movie a shot now that its out on blu ray/ dvd.

A fine critic you must be then when you counter a differing opinion with "you haven't seen many movies". Criticism helps spread the spectrum of opinion to include every view point. A credit to your profession you are I am sure.
