People need to learn how to speak English in America.

I was once told by a former coworker that everybody in Texas should learn how to speak Spanish.

Which is preposterous. If you move into a country, you should try to have a passable knowledge of the language there. The natives should not bend over backwards to accomodate you, that's unfair.
God forbid an american ever take a great opportunity to expand his mind.

Trust me, I live and work in Atlanta. I deal with people almost every day who are from countries from Mexico to India, Korea to Brazil, even a large number of people from Nigeria. I hear languages from Spanish to Hindi, to Korean, to Portuguese, to Shwahili, you name it! The only group of people from a foreign country that expects you to speak their language for them, are Mexicans. All the other groups make a huge effort to learn English, why don't Mexicans??

Thats not discriminatory at all.

I don't see what the big deal is with people wanting immigrants to learn English. I say we do what Spain did when they expanded to the Americas, and f*** everyone until they learn to speak our language. Worst case scenario: it backfires, and we learn Spanish; and if that happens, the language barrier is still broken.

No, it's not. It's an observation.

I was in Walmart today and this woman who was suppose to be helping me couldn't even answer my question, I could barely tell what she was saying.

Pathetic, I'm really sick of this crap! If I went to another country I'd learn their language. My Grandfather was happy to come to America and give up his language.

Needs to be made aware that he too cannot speak English.
