Anton and Levitt are DOPEY looking? They're two incredibly attractive young men, unlike Lerman who just looks like any other kid.

Yelchin and Gordon-Levitt are VERY dopey looking. Levitt could be attractive if it wasn't for his squinty little eyes that make him look like he's either a) stoned all the time b) never gets any sleep.

And seriously people look at Yelchin? His hair is a mess in all his movies, even worse in Star Trek and he's got this very odd face.

I think both his agent and sony have slapped his wrist because even though they have talked nothing concrete has happened so lerman jumped the gun and shouldn't have even mentioned the (I'm sure informal) talks. if the talks were formal and legit then sony would have made lerman sign an NDA.

basically I think sony have a short list and are talking to people on that list.
for instance tayor lautner has seen sony (confirmed by a website, sorry can't remeber which one) but he (lautner) hasn't mentioned the talk because nothing concrete came of it, and that exactly what lerman should have done, but he was asked so he didn't lie.

Aha Yelchin is that guy from Star Trek and Terminator Salvation.. WOW definitely!!! A very talented young actor and maybe the best choice for Harry, he would resemble his Spectacular Spider-Man counterpart.

Ditko is the rule. He co-created the character. Plus, John Romita didn't exactly make the character less dopey-looking. He just made it less cartoony. Face it. Peter Parker is a geeky-looking dude. That's how Stan Lee and Ditko wanted the character to look.

PP is NOT a geeky looking dude.

He was geeky looking when Ditko drew him for the first 38 issues and 2 annuals of ASM. Since ASM#39 (1966) when Romita took over, and for the last 44 years, PP has been portrayed as a good looking, confident guy and practical chick magnet. By contrast he was portrayed as geeky looking for a mere 4 years of publication time.

He was only geeky looking right at the beginning before he got bitten and while in High School and the start of his ESU stint. Pretty soon he developed into being much more confident (cause of Spidey) and better looking (cause of Romita) he then stayed like that since then.

He was geeky looking for 4 years in print, and not geeky for 44 years.
So if the question is posed- is PP a geeky looking guy?
The answer is obviously No.

Could everyone stop suggesting Emma Stone as Mary Jane. MJ is supposed to be a bombshell. Emma Stone is not a hot girl. She's not unattractive, but she is fairly average and normal....not MJ.

Yeah, this notion of Parker looking ugly or whatever is a bit ludicrous. Even when Ditko was drawing spidey, I never got the impression that Peter was ugly. Hell, look at the way he drew Flash and everyone else for that matter, they all have the same distinct look to some extent.

The way I see it, before peter was bitten, he was a shy wimp with a lot of repressed anger. His looks were masked by his dorky clothes, glasses, subhuman strength and the fact that he was super intelligent.

Once bitten, he became more confident, could stand up for himself and had a swagger where his intelligence actually worked in his favour to some extent and this was all while he was still in high school. He had liz and betty on the verge of stalking him.
