Listen, I had so much irrational anger towards the Katherine character for years. 5 year old Shinobi rolled his eyes hard as hell when she morphed for the first time, with KIMBERLY’s Power Coin!

But I’ve grown to love Catherine Sutherland, she’s very down to earth. LOL.

yo and you and I both! When Zeo rolled around I grew to love Kat. I was sad when the OG Turbo team left. I'm even more sad that JDF is no longer with us.

Jason David Frank was well known among the Japanese Tokusatsu fans community, too.
He was truly one of global Tokusatsu icon, who had meritorious popularized Tokusatsu genre around the globe.

I'm still heartbroken by this tragic passing not to mention certain revelations surrounding his death. He inspired so many with his unique style of reaching out to his fans in conventions, fan video etc. To see that he personally got to a place mentally and emotionally where he found it unbearable to continue life's journey is sad.

What I heard is that the theme of new Sentai is a mix between Greek mythology and King Arthur Legend.

Also the helmets are very Dino Thunder/Abaranger. And very cool.

Edit: Are we sure these are official? I’m not seeing them anywhere else. These might be fanmade.

Edit # 2: Yep these aren’t real. This is an old fan creation. I thought they looked a little too much like Abaranger.

This is the only official look we’ve gotten so far and it looks like they’re much more heavily armoured + have capes.

One thing for sure though is that they seems to be back to the more traditional Sentai/Rangers costume design, after the very distinct and unique, out of box designs for the last 2 series (not that I don't enjoy it, though...especially Zenkaiger)

If there are Sentai series which I think would be quite difficult to adapt into PR, it's Zenkaiger and Donbrothers.

Speaking of...I almost can't believe that Donbrothers is nearing the end now.

No need to beat yourself up for it! Mistakes happen . Even the best of us make mistakes sometimes.

But looking at silhouette there...with armored and cape, it seems they will be a non traditional suit again, just like Zenkaiger and Donbrothers.

I’m thinking they’ll keep doing these unconventional suits for the next couple of years and then drum up a big hype for the return to basics for the 50th anniversary.

And Shout Factory has Dekaranger up for preorder. Another one that I wanted. Shout has been putting them out at a good pace, which is nice. Which they would do a bit more on Kamen Rider, as they have all the ones that they have announced to have for sale.

And I have started really going and watching my collection. Starting with Kakuranger. Early 90's Japanese media was something else.

Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (2009) had the first female Red. (Though it was only in the last 5 episodes)



This is the only clip that I can find.
(Which reminds me...Shinkenger's roll call is my no.1 favorite!)

Temporarily. Shinkenger/Mega Samurai had a new character come in as the Red Ranger very briefly. The comics had a past team that had a female red. A few teams have also had a woman nominally in charge, even if they weren't red.

The only female is yellow.

Pity, though if the suits were ever adapted here, a bit easier to sex change one of them.

Ohranger is very underrated.
It was unfortunately one of the un-popular series here that the ratings and toy sales were so bad that Sentai series was almost getting cancelled because of it (despite Ohranger being an anniversary series at the time).

Over time though...fans' response seems to be soften that Ohranger has sort of became the cult classic for some fans. And I am definitely glad that Ohranger is one of the series that got a special tribute in both Gokaiger (35th anniversary series) and Zenkaiger (45th anniversary series).

yeah...I am not fan of Toei now seems to be back into 4 male 1 female members pattern again like most of the old showa series.
It's been 3 years in a row now.

Yeah Red ranger kinda like KR Knight...haha

Looking great. I’m also really loving PapillionOhger’s look. Apparently the rangers are all sovereigns of different countries from another planet.

Purple’s suit has to be my favourite but for the zords, the black bee is the best design imo.
