Wow, Tony really likes tackling Peter, doesn't he. And was he really willing to kill Peter right then and there? A year ago I might've said hell to the no. Now? I wouldn't doubt it.
Interesting observation about Iron Man pretty much being written as Dr. Doom, now. As I said about Mighty Avengers, reading Tony Stark's character right now is pretty much like reading a villain's character; you're always wondering if any word out of his mouth is sincere or grounds for ulterior motives. You can see hints of authoritarian control-freakiness in every single action he makes.
And, y'know, while I most prefer that Tony be a hero, I think I much rather prefer him being an outright, unabashed creep like he is here than for the writers to pretend that he's some sort of admirable "shades of gray" hero who orders assassinations and sends all dissenters to alternate reality prisons in order to, y'know, work for the greater good and all that. If he's a creep, then for Buffy's sake just be upfront about it, don't dress it up like he's so admirable for sacrificing his values or something.
